Okay, my new HP desktop is here. It has taken me 4 days of pushing, tugging, searching, and generally becomming bald with my fingers getting hairer by the minute. (I never read those darn pamplets do you?) The new machine has an Intel core i7 cpu. (860@2.8GHZ) It has 6 gig ram with slot speed of 1333 MHZ. The video card is an ATI 4650 with 1 gb memory. The MB is an MSI indio version 1.0. It has Windows 7 - 64 installed. It took two days to figure out where everything was and to download all of the updates from HP and Microsoft. (I just got the thing Friday and they couldn't download that stuff before shippinbg?) Enough complaining about HP. I did a fresh install of FSX and it worked great. I am seeing graphics I have never seen before. The defrault install turned everything up to max but I still got rid of the frillies like shadow and lens flare. I next did a test flight with FSX and ACARS running together. ACARS fell completly apart and FSX locked up. I did the right click thing and set ACARS to run in XP-3 mode and ACARS settled down as well as FSX being happy with what was going on. I did another test flight and all was great! I then installed FSINN and FScopilot and the FSX hated it. I right clicked FSINN and FScopilot and set them both to run in XP mode. It finally set up the aircraft and the control box appeared. I went through setup and thought all was good with one exception. VATSIM does not appear in the control box. Set it up 3 times and reinstalled it 2 times and still VATSIM does not show up. I have 2 questions. 1. If Running FSX, ACARS, and FSINN under XP mode will it cause those programs to run in 32 bit mode? 2. What could be the problem that VATSIM will not appear in the control box. Will Squawkbox work on this system? Thanks in advance guys.

Make sure you're running everything as an administrator. And before you run FSInn, go to START > FSFDT > And right click FSInnn UI and run that as an administrator only once. That should prevent FSInn issues.
To answer number 1: No, you shouldn't have to do that anyway. Just remember to always run everything as an administrator.
2. Squawkbox would work, but I recommend FSInn.

Okay, tried that. It does bring up the VATSIM box but it still doesn't connect to a server. I checked the firewall and it is allowing FS through.

Edit the server manually since the default one is no longer working.

It does not accept manual entries. I am now getting four green lights, 1 yellow, and 1 red. The yellow is connection to VATSIM and the red is WILCO. It will not look for or allow me to enter any server. I am also getting an overrun error 9. The log shows that the connection to VATSIM failed.
