Hey guys,
My name is Josh Lemon and this is my first Virtual Airlines that I have ever joined. I am very lost however. I have no idea how this organization works or how to complete me assigned job of First Officer to an MD-88 Jet. If someone could somehow walk me through this, it would be much appreciated. I have Skype, Teamspeak, and MSN to be contacted by. I already have many hours flight sim experience, as well as, I am currently enrolled in my ROTC's Private Pilot Ground School program. I don't really need to be taught how to fly, just how to fly for this organization.

There is a wealth of information available in the Documents library located in the pilots center i would suggest reading the MD-88 operators manual it will basically give you the company's procedures for your jet , the FAQ which is self explanatory and the Pilots Promotions manual which describes the various aircraft ratings and such. After you got the gist of what is expected by DVA go to the find a flight page also located in the pilots center find an applicable flight you can fly any flight including code share airlines with any airplane as long as you are rated for it and it can safely fly the distance and land with the legally required fuel reserves ACARS is the prefered method of filing completed flights and can be downloaded from the fleet library also located in the pilots center. Hope this helps have fun flying and Welcome to DVA.

Welcome Josh! I'll be more than happy to help you. I'm on MSN, my address is in my profile (click on my name).
You should start by looking into your Pilot Center ---> Documents Library. Especially the Pilot's Manual and the Promotions Guide, along with the ACARS manual.

First of all, Welcome to DVA. It's a great organization and you will enjoy flying and learning. There's a few manuals that you might be interested in reading in the Pilot Center section under Document Library. The most important ones being: Acars OPS, Pilot's Manual. If you haven't already done so, You'll need to download Acars from the fleet library. You can also download any of the fleet aircraft that are available for you sim version (fs9 or fsx). After you get everything installed you can either use acars to select a flight or find a flight here on the site. Now start your sim up and start your flight in "free flight" mode and your ready to go.

Joshua, This is a easier way to find a flight. The find a flight section requires too much information, some of which you may not know.
In the Pilot Center, scroll down to Browse Schedule, click, then in the from box. enter whatever airport you want, then on the right dropdown panel will list the possible destinations. If you click on All, then you can look at all of the possibilities. Don't be concerned with the aircraft type listed, because again, as mentioned, you can fly any aircraft you are rated in on any of these flights, as long as you can safely do the flight. Any questions, fire away.

basically what every body said umm, you need to fly a mximum of ten flight to get a promotion and thenfrom there, take test to move up to the next rating but before you can do that you have to fly a CR.

Hey Josh, most of the info you need is going to be in the PILOT'S MANUAL in the DOCUMENT LIBRARY. Also, you may want to consult the OPERATING MANUAL for the MD-88. But to quote Devin, it is all about the FUN!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome aboard.
