Hey Guys,
I have a GTX 275 OC graphics card from BFG. When I first got the car and month ago, everything was fine. However, after I just recently OCed my computer from 2.6ghz to 3.8ghz (i7 920) and I have been having errors "the display driver stopped responding..." The screen turns black for a second, and then it returns to the game. I have been reading, and people say that 182.50 is the most stable driver...
http://hardwareguru.com/news/downloa...d-vista-whql-/
The link above is to 182.50 for Vista 64 bit, I have Windows 7 64 Bit.... Will it work on my system?
This problem has happened to me before I OCed. but I raised the fan speed to 80% and it went away...The GPU is not overclocked, and I have not touched any settings.

Jeff,
I would give the drivers a shot, worst case you boot into safe mode and re-move then reinstall new drivers.
My larger concern is that this happened after the overclock. What PSU do you have, what Heatsink are you using with your CPU and what are your CPU temps? Have you run any stress test software to test the OC? An unstable OC can give an aray of errors other than just a BSOD. Temps are very very important and with your past experience prior to OC you may not have enough case cooling. The more info you can give us the better we can help isolate this.

I hate BFG. I'm sure alot of people had great stories about them but I guess I wasn't lucky. But LUCKILY newegg helped me and I exchanged my BFG GTX 260 with a EVGA 260 216 core GPU which was $30 more then the BFG I got. I was impressed with newegg.
To make a long story short:
Don't even touch the overclock settings of your BFG card. This would void the warrenty. Including the fan.
Make sure you have enough watts and most importantly have enough amps. BFG wouldn't accept my card because of that.
I had the same problem your having, the driver crashing and everything. I tried down-clocking it but it was still overheating and crashing like there's no tomorrow.
Don't get piss off the customer service rep (BFG).
Go with newegg! It's sad that there support is a 200% better then BFG.
After I switched to EVGA, all of my crashes are gone (driver wise), and I have the satisfaction of overclocking my video card, experimenting it with different PSU's, changing the heatsink and basically frying it without voiding the warranty. Unless if it happens to physically crack, then there is one less thing to worry about!

I had this problem a while ago with my EVGA card. It was a while ago but since I don't get it know I am sure it was from a driver update. Nvidia seems to update them quite often and try to keep on top of the updates, are you using the latest driver? If you found one that the community is stable for what you are doing then try that one out like you said.

Guys, the OC is stable, I ran LinX 40 times, no erros, no BSODs. I have a 750W PS...and in furmark, the temps on the card never went above 82C (which is good). I have the latest drivers (196.21)... Also, my CPU is water cooler, and temps (on 100 load) never go above 70.

The drivers (196.21) are the first drivers after installing Win7 on a bare drive.
