Hey all,
I flew from Memphis to O'Hare today and had major troubles with the plane. The plane was yawing back and forth and the speed was going nuts. When I disengaged autopilot at 100 feet, the plane went nuts. I landed way left of center line. Anyway. If anyone knows, let me know. Later

At any minute now, I'm about to lay the $22.95, or whatever the amount is, to upgrade my 600/700 to add the 800/900. I've been watching the forum and it seems that most issues are user error or small enough in nature that would not effect our overall enjoyment. I expect they'll issue a little fix file at a later date.
I'm curious to know if you have resolved the experience you had on this flight to determine it's not the plane? The majority of comments have been positive. There is a learning curve for landing the longer 800/900 models to prevent tail strikes by using 40 degrees of flaps at 140kts. This is an issue in the real world according to 737 pilots at first when they move to the longer 737 models. I don't know about anyone else, but this sounds like a party to me.
Let me know your review of the new models up to this point.
Thanks!

No issues here. I'm loving the PMDG series 737. I took the -900 out for a spin last night and it wasn't too bad. Not as hard to land as you might think. The only problem I had was with the autoland. Somehow it kicked off while on final but I still made it down no problem. May have been something I did wrong but we'll ops check it again later.
I can't wait for them to release the 747-400. I'll be all over that thing. I hope that they do some other aircraft like the 757 and 777.

I have yet to upgrade my 737-600/700 to the 800/900 out of the fact I read the PMDG forum and looks like they have some bugs to fix first. Saying that though, when it is released, I will buy it, why not? Looks cool. And I love my 737-600. One of the best planes I have bought for FS2004 in a long time. And I have a huge payware hangar. Anyway, hopefully they will get those updates goin. Would love to have the 800 in a Delta repaint!

I'm off to purchase the 800/900 now. Adam Gaweda sent PMDG an e-mail I believe requesting they do a 777. I think PSS is really missing a great opportunity to make some money by building a Concorde next instead of doing a new 777.
I'm going to post in the PMDG forum my support for a 777. Maybe if we get enough signals into PMDG, they'll start a 777 during the completion phase of the 747-400?
It's worth a try!

Just did my first two flights on vatsim with the -800 in Delta colors. What a fantastic plane ... I love the TCAS. There are a few operational differences from what I'm used to in the -700, but I'll figure that stuff out after I read the manuals and play around some more. Definitely worth the upgrade. I experienced zero bugs. Running FS9.

Man...PMDG Doing 777?
We already have a good 777 out there, (Meljet......???)
What we need bigtime are:
Embraer 135/140/145
Saab 340
New 737-300/200
New MD-8X series ( FFX's are ok, but are too FS2002 like )
And thats about it. Wish someone out there would make a Gmax Saab 340 or ERJ-1XX. If PMDG made a Saab 340, ERJ-1XX, or MD-8X type aircraft, i'd buy it immediatly.

Yeah, that's true. When Boeing came out with the -900 much of their initial flight test was concerned with the added length of the fuselage and thus tailstrikes.
<cpmode>What are you doing landing at 140? The 737 manual clearly states 135 as the correct landing speed!</cpmode>

Brian,
Flight Factory Simulations are in the process of making a Saab340B. By all accounts, it's one to look out for.

Brian, FeelThere has a superb ERJ-145. It has no panel, but Grabowski's is just fine for it. They have announced the intention of producing a panel for it when they finish the CRJ series.
