I'm trying to be realistic as possible to the Delta MD-88. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the config on how to do that.
Do Deltas MD-88 PFDs have a Pitch Limit Indicator or Rising Runway?
Do they have Autobrakes or Auto-arm altitude?

The Delta 88's have both on the PFD's. Pitch Limit Indication AND Rising Runway.
They DO have autobrakes.
I am not Autoflight qual yet, so I cannot at this time answer your question about the auto-arm alt. I will confer with a captian on a tru flight and advise.

Delta also uses the dual cue flight director so you'll want to change that option as well.

Anyone want to enlighten me on how to get the auto throttle to work? This is the only major problem I'm having with this plane. I put in a number, say 230K and it will scream up to 270 or higher then waaay back down to 190 then back up again. This is spectacular especially when under 10,000 feet.
Also once I'm well into my climb it doesn't seem to know how to not lose an engines. It always over speeds or exceeds RPM Limits and the engine dies. I've tried both the FMS override EPR limit button but I don't seem to notice a difference.
The weird thing is i had no problems whatsoever on my CR but now I can't get the AT to work for the life of me. Other than that its a great plane but im tired of controlling the throttle manually all the time.

Matthew, you will never firewall the throttles on the Maddog. Ever. In fact, you will rarely even touch the the throttles after you line up on the runway. You set either TO (blue light) or TO FLEX (yellow light) on the TRC, if you set TO FLEX you'll want to disengage the ART switch and compute your derate temp.
When you are taxiing to the runway, you'll engage both flight directors and by clicking the throttles, engage the flight director takeoff mode. Once you are lined up in position, simply engage the auto throttle and takeoff power will automatically set. Accelerating down the runway CLMP mode engages. Simply put, the a/t motors are now 'clamped' to the throttle levers.
Climbing through 1800AGL, or 3000AGL if executing a noise abatement takeoff, select CLB on the TRC to set climb power. Usually at this point you can just engage VNAV and the EPR limit will be handled by the FMS as the plane maintains its vertical profile. Once you get to cruise, surprise surprise, select CRZ.
"GA" is selected when on final.
"MCT" stands for Maximum Continuous Thrust and should only be used in the event of an engine failure.
I suggest reading the manuals available for download at Flythemaddog.com - this plane is very complex. Yet highly addictive.

I guess I should have stated this. I've done the tutorial and read most of the manuals (that pertain to this anyways). I know not to firewall the engines, I don't have this problem when manually controlling the throttle. I just wanted to know why the A/T was so unreliable.
I've only had it be able to go into clamp mode once or twice, other than that it seems to never work.
Anyways, I'll give it another shot. I do love the plan just the one thing I'm having trouble with.

Matthew, as Terry said about the throttles, make sure you click in between the two throttles when looking at the pedestal. When you click in between the 2 levers you should see TAK OFF on both sides of the FD display. Once you line up on the runway and increase your throttles up to 60%N1 then click the auto throttle on. Also make sure that you have the TO button clicked on the engine setting panel.
Send me an email if you can't get it working, I can get it up to speed for you and even maybe get you set up in a shared cockpit with me and I can give you a tutorial on it.

Ok, it seems I have it figured out. I don't know if its just my throttle but it seems like you have to leave your throttle in a certain spot for it to actually catch. I'm used to, after engaging A/T pulling my throttle back for some reason. I guess because its a visual key for me.
Anyways I dont know what I was or wasn't doing before but it seems its working now.

I think part of the problem is that hardware throttle position seems to override FS throttle position. I can't seem to get the hang of pitch over speed modes when clamp is reverted to, then its an interesting fight with my joystick. I've also noticed VNAV is fairly unreliable in meeting climb/descent restrictions too. Seemed to disregard my climb restrictions on the PECOP2 today and only calculated me needing 9 nm to descend from FL320 to FL190/250 kts on the SAYGE6 last night. I've been resorting to vert speed and spd sel modes mostly for my climbs and descents with VNAV at cruise.

Also make sure the box that says "autopilot disconnects when flight controls are moved manually" is unchecked. That could possibly help you out as well.

Yes, they are. Unfortunately, the combination of thrust/hardware issues with VNAV inconsistancy and ambiant sound stuttering are really frustrating for me.

I'm 99 percent sure its for if you want to fly in the co pilot position it wires the autopilot to follow your nav input and not the captains. As I recall if you're in the co pilot position and you dial in a frequency like for a localizer it will show up on your display but it wont actually follow that path. Enabling this allows it to follow it.
I could be wrong though.

PFD on opposite NAV. Set this option to visualize the G/S scale of the opposite NAV (NAV2 for PFD1 and NAV1 for PFD2).

Ahh it seemed to indeed be the autothrottles moving causing the sound stuttering; wonder if the continuous spurts of sound has anything to do with my hardware throttle like I've mentioned on a few threads. Don't know why it bothers me so much but it just really irritated me...but trading off a bit of realism to give my ears a break is fine by me.

The sound when the throttles move is a normal thing. The MD88 is an OLD bird and it has alot of strange noises. The sound you hear when the throttles move is the auto throttle servos moving the throttle levers.
Having spent lots of time around the MD88 when I worked for Delta, I can tell you the sound set with the Maddog 08 is as close to the real thing as I've ever heard.

Even if it is real, I'm not positive the sound I'm hearing is correct, as the throttles move it sounds like a motor sound starts to play, then crackles. Happens maybe every 2 seconds or so. But, I'm content with having turned it off all together.
And I'd be up for multicrew as well.

So I'm aware from the other posts here - but what I'm saying is that there is a static/crackle at the end of everytime it plays, hence why I've now isolated and muted it.

I also have the CH Throttle set and when I engage the Autothrottle, it goes out of proportions when using it for takeoffs and cruise. Usually when I enable VNAV on climbs it stabilizes but when it reaches crusing altitude it takes my aircraft into overspeed.
Is there a way to get around this so the Maddog works well with the CH Throttle quadrant?

I use the CH TQ with the MD08 without any problems... Seems like I had to check (or maybe, uncheck) the "Exclude Throttle Set" checkbox in FSUIPC. I'm not at my computer now so I can't confirm the setting, but play around with that checkbox and see what it does for you.

That sounds like stab trim... is it on app or dep? Could also very well be Autothrottle too, but I have worked around MD88's so long.. i dont even really pay attention to the ambient sounds..
