With the purchase of a new rig, I'm finally making the switch over to FSX. While my new computer is perfect for what I do most of the time, I wouldn't call it an FS dream machine. It's decent enough to run FSX with mid-range settings and a consistent 20 FPS. I'm now looking for a few add-ons (payware or freeware) to go with it.
With FS9, I was a huge fan of the FlyTampa series and of course, the ImagineSim KATL - which is a must for us Delta drivers. While these add-ons were extremely well done, I liked them most for the almost non-existent impact they had on FPS when compared to the default scenery.
Can anyone tell me if the FSX versions of these titles compare similarly as far as the impact on FPS? I don't think my rig can handle any huge load of an add-on, so if these payware items are going to create a substantial drop in frames, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Thanks for the help.
If you have any other recommendations for scenery add-ons, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks.
