I know just enough about computers to get in trouble, and not enough to get out. With my luck I would select a program that I thought was unnecessary and then my screen would go dark and I wouldn't be able to reboot and get back to the net to ask people how to fix it. I'll wait for others to go first and say the coast is clear.

Sorry but it must be garbage... no program can make your PC faster, it's as simple as that. A well-defragged hard drive, strong hardware and the lowest possible number of processes running in the background is all you need.

I agree that no program can make a PC faster and they shouldn't be advertising it that way. But, as far as I can tell from toying around with it a bit, it does exactly what David says (except upgrading hardware ) It will defrag a single games folder, temporarily kill background processes, and clean your ram. It also claims to "intensify processor performance" whatever that means. So far it seems relatively harmless, but I'll keep playing with it and report back.

David, I wouldn't jump to conclusions so quick. I use Game Booster and it easily increases FPS by about 5 because it shuts down unnecessary background processes that otherwise clog resources.

Yeah, sorry, I should have been more clear. You should keep your processes running to the minimum by being careful with what you install, for example toolbars, calendars, reminders, programs running at startup, etc. Not having 10 windows open while you play is also a good idea.
That way, you don't need yet another program to shut down other processes, which could also turn out worse, because you shouldn't close processes that you don't know what they do.

Exactly, Game Booster finds recourse consuming processes that aren't related to the system and shuts them down. Like the widgets bar, I use EZDok, and it shuts that down, and many other things that don't affect the system.

Well thanks for the feedback. I have never been able to run fsx at any descent fps. So far after just defragmenting fsx and touching nothing else im able to run fsx with unlimited fps settings im getting 40 to 42 from the 12 i use to get. It has been a week and the software has not inpacted my pc in any other way. I dont know much about computers, but i can say that so far its making my fsx flying 10 to 20 percent better.

Ive been using game booster for about 6 months and there is a little improvement.
Its no different really than closing programs using program manager (ctrl+alt+del). It doesn't really close them though it just freezes them and when you close game booster they come back. Its impossible to close a program using GB that will make ur computer crash (except, maybe EXPLORER).
I use it all the time Worth a try at least.
