Hi all..
I installed ACARS and configured everything the same way I used to but when I set up my flight, ACARS connects properly, I input all of my flight data and when I try to "start flght" I get an error message. It says something about a connection to the server or maybe a problem with FSUIPC. I have FSUIPC 4 and I'm running windows 7, 32bit. ACARS is installed in program files. I have the flight sim running when I attempt to "start flight" also and after closing the error window, another pops up telling me I must have FSX running before I can use ACARS. What am I missing here? Do I need to install ACARS in a different folder or is there something in windows settings that needs to be changed? I've read the ACARS manual again and can't find anything about my problem. Any help would be appreciated.. Oh and ACARS is connected because it says welcome to ACARS and I can see people logging in and out and chatting so I know that part is working fine..
Thanks..

Possibly you are flying FSX in Vista or Win7? If so, please make sure that you are running ACARS as an Administrator as well as FSX and any other programs you use to fly (Active Sky, FS Commander, WOAI, etc.). Running our Registry Fixer program should restore the registry pointers to FSX so ACARS can see it (again, both need to be run as Administrator). Hope this helps.

I went into permissions and set it up so that I have "permission" to do whatever I want I believe because it would'nt allow me to change aircraft.cfg files in order to add textures and when I went to do that I included all folders in that permission. Is that what you're talking about?

Ok.. I reinstalled ACARS then started FSX as Administrator and loaded my flight then started ACARS as administrator and filled out my flight info and when I got to "start flight" or "load fuel" it still pops up an error message that says.. "Maybe running on WideClient but FS is not running on server or wrong FSUICP" I"m running the lates version of FSUIPC also. I am also getting that smeared look in the drop down aircraft menu like I saw in another post somewhere. Still not working. Anyone have any other ideas why this is happening?

Does FSUIPC appear in your FSX Add-Ons menu?
Cheers!

I don't know about an add-ons menu but it's in my FSX modules folder.. I never had a problem with FSX using ACARS when I was using XP. This seems to be a windows 7 problem and I just can't figure it out. Missing something somewhere..

When you installed ACARS, did you check the FSUIPC box to have it installed as well? If not, just go into the ACARS install and choose the FSUIPC option (the version 4.xxx for FSX).
Reboot and see if all works.

I did Andrew.. All other addon A/C work and ACARS connects and I can see others signing in and out and chatting etc. But I get that message every time I try to start flight or add fuel. I"ve tried to reinstall it several times and I've tried running it in full screen, and in windowed, nothing seems to make a difference.

Ok Guys.. I got it to work finally. First I uninstalled ACARS then went to my modules folder in FSX and deleted FSUIPC. After making sure all that stuff was gone I went online and found the latest version of FSUIPC and installed it to FSX. Then I reinstalled ACARS unchecking everything accept ACARS it's self. Started FSX and loaded my flight. Minimised FSX and started ACARS and put in my flight data and then connected. Clicked on load fuel and that worked fine. Then clicked on start flight and everything went off without a hitch except for my over -400 landing but hey.. It's been over a year since I made a flight. lol. I'll get there again. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions..
CHEERS..
