I just bought the QW757 package. Can't install because I didnt update FS9 to v9.1. Updating FS9 to v9.1 I get a "update error type: 18". I reinstalled FS9 and uninstalled all DVA add-ons but still get the error. Has anyone encountered this and how did you fix it. Thanks.

Hi Jamie, no, when I try to run the FS9 update for 9.1 it stops with an update error type : 18 and says "Flight Sim 2004 v9.1 could not be updated". Thanks for the reply.

What OS system are you using...could be an "administrative rights" issue if you are using VISTA or W7...right click on the 9.1.exe and change your adminsitrative settings...
Also, make sure you aren't using the "CD crack" fs9.exe...you must have an "official" registered copy of fs9's 4th CD inserted in your CD drive...i.e. CD#4 that was in the box...

It sure is great to have all this expertise available. I just bought a new machine moving from XP to W7 so there is a little learning curve. Thanks Robert, I reinstalled everything and did what you said ran as administrator and now I have a successful version of 9.1. Can't wait to setup my new QW757. Thank you again. Happy contrails.

Raymond, I have recently purchased this 757 as a treat for joining the program, isn't she just amazing, I've been training myself in it up at Boeing Field doing many take-offs,landings and many other maneuvres before I start going live on VATSIM with it, I'm also beginning to get to grips with the FMC and using that and will very shortly make my debut as a 757 F/O by flying out of KSEA to KMSP(my old base when I was in A320) then on to KATL which I've chosen as my new hub for the 757.
Anyhow great to hear that you have 9.1 up and running and look forward to seeing the captain master the QW757

Jamie, wow I was just amazed with the a/c and like you going through that 170+ page manual. It's well done and written for lazy people like me. Yippee. I am now wondering how to install the acars gauges in the panel using the instructions in the acars manual. Not too successful as of yet. Any thoughts? I started a new thread about it to see if anyone has ideas. By the way aren't the sounds awesome?

Speaking for myself...it isn't worth the bother...all the gauge does is tell you what flight regime you are in...TO, climb, cruise...I think you can figure this out...without needing the gauge to tell you...
Besides...a green textline lets you know when you start pushback...taxi and TO...just so you can tell that ACARS is functioning...
Just my opinion...
