I am having a problem installing the 757,727,and 767. I can load the planes and start a flight but as soon as I try to open a panel the game crashes. Any ideas on what I can do.

It's hard to tell what might be wrong.. If you uninstall those planes does your sim work properly then? Are you using FS9 or FSX? Is everything installing where it's supposed to? I've had problems in the past with some addon A/C because they had messed up guages that did'nt jive with something in my sim or whatever. I've even had to completely reinstall FS in the past because I've gotten a bad file somewhere and could'nt find it. A word of advice for you.. When installing addons of any kind. Install ONLY ONE addon at a time and then start FS and make sure everything is ok before you install your next addon. Makes it easier to figure out where things got messed up if you check your sim after every addon install.

Jon,
I'm have the same problem and had started thread "Fleet 767 w/FSX on WIN7". My next attempt, when I get home, is to try starting FSX as an administrator and see if that makes any difference.
I hope we hear something, soon.

I have FSX running on Windows XP. I removed FSX completely from the computer (removed from registry and deleted all folders on local drive) and then reinstalled it. I then defragged the computer and reinstalled the 757 pack. Im still having the same problem. Does it matter that my local drive is designated as (H:)? Also, is there a way to manually install the plane? I just need it for a check ride.

If you just want to get your CR done. Maybe you could try to download and install the 767 directly from Project Opensky. I believe the fleet bird is the same plane. I can't figure out for the life of me why you're having this problem and believe me I have thought about it quite a bit. It may be some kind of problem with the installer. But yes you could change the file path to a folder on your desk top or in your docs (docs is where I do all of my work out of) and then manually install it. All you would have to do then is just drop the folder into H:/program files/microsoft games/FSX/sim objects/airplanes. And you should be good to go.

I guess you can't change the file path in the installer Jon I just tryed it and the only option I had was to install it in FSX or FS9 so I went ahead and installed it in FSX and took it for a quick hop around PHX and landed and parked etc. without a problem. I'm still trying to figure something out to help you out bud. In the mean time, go here and download the plane from here cuz you can install it by hand from project opensky. http://www.projectopensky.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=921
Let me know if this works for you.

What panels are you trying to open? If it's happening in both the 757/767 and the 727 it's unlikely to be something with the panel, since the 727 panel is completely different.
Cheers!

I was still having problems with the installers and my DVD drive just stopped opening. So I bought a new DVD drive. I figured I would start fresh so I erased my entire local drive. Wrote to zeros. Reinstalled Windows and all drivers. Then the new DVD drive would open but windows would not recognize any discs. When I tried to update the drivers for the DVD drive the update program wouldn't recognize the hardware but in the device manager the drive would show up and say it was working properly. I plugged in an external DVD drive and still the computer would not recognize any discs. The weird thing is that the new DVD drive worked when I used a boot disc to write to zeros. And the drive worked when I reinstalled XP. It only stopped working once XP booted up again. I understand the drive going out because of a virus or something, but to do the same thing after a full restore? I can't tell if its a hardware or software issue. Bought new computer. Hopefully it gets here in time for my cr.

Jon,
I was able to fly the fleet 767 for a total flight from KSLC to KSAN without FSX crashing. I'm going to try the same flight again to see if this was just a fluke.
Good luck with your new system,
Ed

I was able to fly the fleet 767 again last night without issue. The only thing that I can think of as being the root of the problem is that, when I installed the fleet 767, I intalled the FSUIPC V4.604 that came with it. I reinstalled the version I had, FSUIPC V4.60a, and it's been working fime. If the issue reappears, I'll post again.

OK. So. I just got my new computer. Right out of the box the first thing I installed was FSX. Works fine. Then the DVA 737. It works fine. I then try to install the DVA 757 and Im having the same problem I was having with my old comp. CTD every time I try to open a panel. Im running Windows 7 with an i7 860 and an ATI HD 5850. I cant figure this out.

Have you tried running as "administrator"? Right-click on FSX and select it. If you're using ACARS, you'll have to do the same with it.

just tried running as admin. no luck. I wonder if it has something to do with the modules im installing. Should I be installing FSUIPC from the ACARS installer or the 757 installer? What version would be ideal for the 757 or does it matter at all? Could screen resolution have anything to do with it? Or maybe a particular display setting? Im grasping at this point. Is there some other software Im missing? Is there a walkthrough and/or list of requirements for the install?

I had a problem getting the fleet 767 to run. It kept crashing FSX to the desktop. I had installed the FSUIPC version that came with the installer. It was something like 4.604. So, I deleted it and reinstalled the 4.60a version of FSUIPC that I previously instlled and been running with from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Once I did this, my problems went away.

I tried that and still having problems. I tried installing the 767 as well as the 757 and both ctd when I try to open a panel. I uninstalled everything including the 4.604 and acars. I then installed the 4.6a FSUIPC followed by ACARS then the 757. Still same problem. I have no problems installing the 737 or the DC6. Those installed fine. Just having problems with these two planes. Ed, was your 767 crashing FSX when you tried to open a panel or was it crashing at some other point?

Jon,
I hate to say it, but it was variable. Most of the time it crashed when I tried to bring up the main panel. But, there were times when I was able to take off and then it crashed.
I really sorry you're have such a problem. I can't think of any thing else you haven't tried.

Jon,
Here's something I do, before I start my fleet 767. I load up the default airbus... get it all settled, then change the aircraft to the fleet 767.
Worth a try, maybe,

The ultalight is the default for FSX out of the box. You can change the default to be one of the aircraft you have installed, instead.

I hope that I'm saying this right, because I can see where it can be taken a couple different ways.
FSX, when first installed, has the ultralight as the default aircraft. If you hardly ever fly the ultralight, you might want to and can change this default to be any other aircraft you have installed in FSX. So, the next time you start FSX, that aircraft will show as the default.
As I have FSX installed, the ultralight is still my default aircraft. What I do, however, is:
- start FSX to the create a flight screen
- change the ultralight aircraft to one of the default aircraft like the Boeing 737
- change my starting airport and RW or gate
- change my weather
- change my time
- click fly to put me in the default 737 I chose, at the airport, and ready to go
- change the aircraft to my fleet 767-300
- I'm not in my fleet 767-300, at the airport, and ready to go
- load or create my flight plan
- continue with the flight by making the settings for that flight, etc.
I have found that, when I load the fleet 767 right away, that, when the flight starts, I hear a warning horn going off, because my gear has been set to up even though I'm on the ground at the gate. Yes, this is wierd, but that's what it does to me. Following the steps I listed above has prevented this. I haven't the slightest idea why, but, as long as it keeps working, I'm OK with it.
I hope this helps.

There is a typo in my above entry...
instead of
I'm not in my fleet 767-300, at the airport, and ready to go
it should be
I'm now in my fleet 767-300, at the airport, and ready to go
