I have FSX on a Windows 7 system. I can start up FSX, set up a default 319 at KSLC, and change the aircraft to the fleet 767. If I press F1 to bring up the cockpit panel, most of the time FSX crashes and restarts. I've had a couple of occasions when I could run for a little bit, even took off once, but it still crashes.
BTW, I have the fleet MD-88 and fly it with no probems.
Any ideas? I'm trying to get my skills up on this aircraft in preparation for the 767 checkride.

I was finally able to spend some time on my problem.
When I installed the fleet 767, I gave it the check to install FSUIPC 4.604. I have a registered copy, so, I reinstalled the one I have. It's 4.60a. I brought up FSX, loaded the fleet 767 at KSLC on RW16R and hit enter. Immediately I hear an alarm going off. I finally figured out that is was the gear. Somehow, it was set to up on the load. I set it to down and the alarm quit. I was able to take off, but FSX crashed and tired to recycle. If I start task manager as soon as I realize that it's going down, I see the WmiPrSV.exe is using about 50% CPU. Now, I don't know if this issue. It may be something else that I miss before bring up task manager.
That was yesterday. Today, I tired again. I loaded FSX, set up a flight from the default 319 at KSLC on RW16R and loaded it. No problems. I changed aircraft to the fleet 767. No problems and no alarm. Hmmmmm! I loaded a flight plan, started ACARS, connected, loaded a flight plan, and started a flight. I was able to do the complete flight without issue. This is very strange. I'll try it again to see if this flight was a fluke.

Well, I few the checkride for the 767 again without FSX crashing. The only thing I can think of that could have been the root of this prolbem is installing the FSUIPC verions 4.604 that came with the fleet 767. Once I reinstalled verions 4.60a, the problem did not occur. If this problem rises again, I'll post it. For now, it appears that the issue is resolved.
