Not the Slew mode, but when I press F11 to go to the spot view, I can't move around and it stays in one place and the same with the F12, (Up Down view) I can't move up or down by scrolling with the mouse and pressing the space bar. Can someone please help? I want to get back flying. Thanks

Why don't you try just using the "A" button to change views in the sim or assign a joystick button to switch views?

I understand what you're saying, and I tried it. But it's all locked in one spot, and you can't move to get a view behind the aircraft. I find it hard to fly while just looking at the side of the aircraft and not really being able to see what's in front of you, unless you're in the cockpit. I can fly, but it's harder for me to do so. Thanks

What happens if you push 's' ?
You fly from outside the cockpit?? Wouldnt have that luxury in the real world
Virtual Cockpit lets you look around, its the most realistic way to fly IMHO.

I agree with you Jack.. I won't drive a race car from the outside either in a racing sim.. Gotta have the inside view or I won't even own the game. Only reason I ever go outside is to take a screenshot. Tommy if you're using FSX you know that there are "views within views" don't you? You may try checking that out. Otherwize I'm not sure how to solve your problem.

I see your points guys, and I know I cheat by looking from the outside of the plane, but it's a little discouraging to know you can't move on the outside, the top down, or the virtual cockpit. And I don't mean I can't switch views, I can do that, I just can't move around once I get to a certain view

Maybe your "hat" switch has gone bad.. Or somehow lost the assignment in settings. Never had that happen.
