I'm guessing that I would have to join AFV for awhile (10 flights?) inorder to get a Captain's rating in the Concorde...
Am I correct?

I already passed the CR and received my Concorde rating...but is it possible to become a Captain and still stay at DVA?
Sorry...I didn't make myself clear...

Robert, there is no Concorde program at DVA, only at AFVA. It is only an additional rating you can pick up, similar to getting a DC-3, JS41, or A380 rating (you can get it but there is no stand-alone program for it here at DVA). If you actually wanted that to be your program, you would need to transfer to AFVA. But that's impossible, because I would forbid it.

You know...I've been thinkin'...maybe I should try and start a Concorde program here at DVA...hmm...imagine...me...a CP...yea...that would work well...
If I do decide on a transfer to the AFVA Concorde program...it would only be for alittle while...
There's probably a very short line of people that would miss me...in fact...maybe your the only one on it...and maybe that's not such a good thing Nick...
Thanks for the sentiment...
P.S. Sorry I missed your ACARS coms today...I always fly in full screen...so if I don't respond it's only because I haven't switched to my desktop...which I often do during a flight...Top ground speed today I believe was around...1215kts!...Nice tailwind eh?...it's even better in the late fall and winter...very
Not so great the other way though...I almost alway get a fuel warning during the approach into KJFK...

Hi Nicholas,
Question about the Concorde program: I would like to get the rating here at DVA, but for some reason I can not see the program. Would you please point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Do what Neil said, but dont forget. You have to be a Stage 4 captain or a Senior Captain

Guys, we don't have a Concorde program at DVA. Hence, we've got a special way to get the rating. In order to request it, you have to be a Stage 4 Captain or Senior Captain (or, have been one in the past at some point and moved down to a lower-stage program). Then file a Help Desk item, it'll get routed over to me, and I'll give you the checkride. Fly it on ACARS, but because it's not assigned in the normal manner, DON'T check the "checkride" box. Just fly it and then send me an email when you're done. I'll check it and approve or reject it, then the Help Desk ticket will be assigned over to Ken Nesbitt to give you the rating.
Since there's no Concorde program at DVA, there's no "rank" in it--it's an additional rating. When you get it, there's no change in your current program or rank.
Now AFV does have a Concorde program, and that rating/promotion is handled in the normal DVA/AFV manner.

Thanks Lewis,
I just got my Stage 4 rating, and will do the necessary flights to get the captain position. Once this is completed, I will do what you suggested above.
Now, once (and if) I get the Concorde rating, I would be able to fly any of the assigned routes in the DVA schedule correct?
Once again thanks for your time.
Luca
