I've always ran the x86 version of Windows. Will FSX work with a 64-bit OS? I need to upgrade my computer at home to Win 7 Pro for work and will run the x64 version if FSX will work the same way. Any help/advice appreciated.

Yes it will, it'll still be a x32 application, but will run fine on a x64 OS.

x64 is actually recommended to fix the OOM issues.

It not only works, but works tremendously on my machine with Win7 64 Bit. Just some small compatibility issues with some add-ons.
Cheers,

Upgrading from windows 7 32 bit tomorrow to the 64 bit version myself.. Now I'll be able to use my 4GB of RAM and when I get the $$$ I'm going to 8GB of RAM and probably an ATI 5950 1.5 gig video card.. Should solve a few problems for me also..
Cheers..

I should think so! If it worked on Server '08 R2 I'd be able to take advantage of 32 gigs RAM and 2 Xeon processors!

I am on win7 64 bit and will never go back to 32 bit. It is great to have solved the OOM issue which just disappears with 64 bit . . .

I don't think it will make a big diff if no proper conditions are adjusted on your rig as >4GB RAM or faster processor's speed, as mentioned earlier FSX is 32bit no matter what you do with your HW, nothing will change that. Also keep in mind, FSX has a poor coding structure and requires a looooot of power to be run properly. Also some tweaks will help http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=34661&page=1
Definitively go for it as no 2 HW configs will be ever the same, you're at the verge of a lot of fun trying to 'tune it up' properly!
Cheers
