Do CRJ-200's have landing autopilot? How do you activate it? It would be helpful to land at many airports that have stuff like trees at the beginning of the runway...

Could you please be a little more specific Jordan...by "landing autopilot" do you mean approach mode (localizer and glide slope capture) or are you referring to autoland?

I'm quite sure there is no autoland capability on the CRJ's...actually...I don't think that any DVA fleet aircraft are capable of autoland...I never really use them...so I may be wrong...but not about the CRJ's...sorry...

I know that the fleet 757 will AUTO land but CRJ's do not have that capability, sim or real world.

grrr, autoland would have been useful. I spent 2 hours trying to get from RIC to CVG. I was lined up with the runway. I touched down at 120 knots and my wheels went through the ground and it said I crashed. How is that possible if I was at the right speed? And I turned off collisions. I had about 10 cool snapshots of it, but now their useless since I failed the flight. There goes attempt 2 at my first flight here at DVA. Maybe 3 is where I'll get lucky...

The Fleet 757/767 has full auto-land. Just have to know how to set it up.

Your landing speed may have been 120 kts but what was your sink rate. It can actually INCREASE if your VRef was not right (or in this case, maybe too low).

I know for a fact there is no autoland for a CRJ. A real CRJ doesnt even have auto-throttle. The only time the plane sort of holds speed is during climb mode or descent mode it basically adjusts the pitch to climb or descent at a certain airspeed. Usually, unless I feel like handflying the approach, I let the autopilot fly it down to minimums then i disengage the autopilot and land.

I believe my sink rate was about 100... The lowest I had seen yesterday was 10 and the highest was around 350.

for a save landing:
hold Vapp or Vref (what you prefer) / Vapp is Vref+5knts and hold the plane on the ILS at 20-30ft over ground you take back throttles to 0 and try to get your Vertical Speed indicator just a bit below 0 and hold her until she touches the ground, but:
1. each Aircraft reacts in another way
2. the CRJ is a bit tricky to land (flown her very often bevore i get the Level-D ) also i real
and finaly: a good landing requires an good and stable Approach
i had turn off the crash detaction, because there are a few scenery / or Aircrafts producing crashed whithout any reason... so try to turn it off and look what happens!
