This morning, I woke up and tried to boot up FSX. It got to the screen where it said Microsoft Flight Simulator X - the startup screen. After 5 minutes of it being on there, I went to the task manager to see what was up with it and it said that it wasn't responding, so I shut it down and tried it again. Same thing happened, so I shut it down yet again. I waited 10 minutes, then booted it up again. It still said Not Responding, so I let it sit there for about 15 minutes. Then it loaded. I went to select a plane and it said Not Responding yet again.

Ok, I finally got it up, but I'd still like to know what is causing the problem.

If so FSX will take longer to load. It also depends on how many add-ons you have installed in FSX. Mine takes a little while to load on start up. Maybe like 0-10 minutes. After that, I have no problems.

The only addons I have are the CRJ fleet, the MD-88 fleet, and the Concorde fleet.

TEN MINUTES? I hope you're exaggerating, that sounds like something in
the sim is doing something illegitimate, like trying to contact a network address
and timing out, or something like that. Even with UT2 and lots of addons I don't
think mine takes more than a minute or 2.
You might do a virus scan Jordan, every once and a while I go and look at my
fsx.cfg and clean loadable stuff out of that, but that requires you knowing your
way around your system, if you don't, then don't mess with it.
Another thought, if you are running Vista or Win7 do you have FSX set to run as
Administrator? If not it might be failing the permission to access something
it needs to.

Yeah, on startup, it takes 3-5 minutes, then when I need to select a plane, it's another 1-2 minutes. It's probably because of the addons you have, because I have over 175 addon aircraft [estimated].
