I read somewhere in the past that you can substitute an aircraft for certain routes if it can be done safely. I want to start flying my MD88 online however I would like to start it using less complicated routed i.e. avoiding KATL, KJFK ect.... I like airports like KSYR and KJAX as they seem to be less populated until I can "graduate" to the KATLs and KJFKs. I seen a route that uses the CRJ 200 ond CRJ 700, is it legal to use the MD88 instead? After of course I verify it can be safely flown with the Maddog.
Thanks
Gene

Sure, you can fly it. As long as
A) The MD-88 has the range (which it should if a CRJ flies it)
B) The runways are long enough for the Maddog.
Have fun!

Yep, you can fly any aircraft on any route as long as your rated and the aircraft can make it safely.

If you fly at KJFK or KATL in off peak hours with a controller there it might help you to 'get off the ground' a little more quickly at the larger airports. Its not so bad after your first go Good luck

so i can fly say a 767-300 from bogota colombia to atlanta? I know it works and because I'm staying in a hotel until my stuff gets shipped from the U.S., i see delta pilots and flight attendents always walking in early morning. and once in a while there'll be pilots who fly the 767 into here

Yes, you can fly that but you have to be rated in the 763
