All the sudden my throttle will not go to idle or full power on any aircraft. reverser works fine. All buttons on controller work. The calibration page shows the controller working fine? I read some posts about similar problems, and tried uninstalling reinstalling controller with no results. On a whim I dug out and reinstalled FSX and it worked fine. It will not work with FS9, fleet or stock aircraft. Am I missing something simple or should I consider uninstall/reinstall of FS9? that would be a pain.

Fixed. for whatever reason I had to reset settings to default for the contoller, and basically reassign all the functions to the controller. I wish RAID made a spray for computer bugs.

Rodney, I have two of these and noticed the same issue. It boiled down to FS having a problem when the device is unplugged and then plugged back into another USB port. Apparently FS gets 'confused' and re-assigns the control device with the 'defaults'
Knowing this, I use a little label machine to label the USB ports and the cables of the devices so I don't get them mixed up if I need to unplug them (for cleaning, etc).
Glad to hear you got the problem straightened out

You know it's funny. I read a post that you should not plug anything into the yoke because it will cause problems. Well my problem started after unplugging the rudder pedals from the yoke and plugging directly into PC. Rudder still works fine but throttle is still giving me headaches. First lever will allow me full range, but stutters the engines. Second lever will not allow idle or full thrust. Third lever will not accept throttle designation??? I just reassigned some of the buttons on the yoke to give me throttle adjustments until I hear from Saitek. I bought this second hand so I don't know what to expect.

I just bought the Throttles. The #3 engine would go full idle and full thrust but the other 2 would not. Go to the sensitivity page of the setup and match the sensitivity and null to the working throttle. Mine now works on all 3.

I've found that NOT using Saitek's software for set up is the way to go. I use a registered version of FSUIPC. Worth a look if you aren't familiar with it. Very powerful tool

+2 to that one. The saitek software really doesn't interface well with FS

Leave Your FS9 installed.
Pay for and install your reg key from FSUIPC and tweak your controls through FSUIPC .
go here to purchase your reg # .... http://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=fsuipc
I use FS9 with Saitek, Pro yoke, Throttles and Switch Panel. FSUIPC is the only way to go.
I just posted the instructions in the Download Library under "Web Resources" Check it out. It's titled FSUIPC PDF.
Completely Deactivate your Joy Stick Controls for FS9. Tweak your controls using FSUIPC and allow FSUIPC to take over.
follow the instructions in the library and you'll be pushing off the gate in no time !
Good luck !
Frank

Another tip for anyone who uses the Saitek throttles would be to take them apart and lube the potentiometers with Electrical Contact Cleaner/Lubricant (sold in a can at radio shack) since they have very little lubricant from the factory.
I went even further and super-glued a piece of felt on the underside of the top portion of the housing (where the slots are for the throttles) and then used a razor knife to add thin 'slits' for the throttle levers to slide through. This is done to keep dust, dirt, bread crumbs, ashes, etc out of the interior of the quadrant. Sure, it voids the warranty but when combined with the lube job will certainly give them a longer life than without.
