This one is about to die after 6 years of mostly reliable service, is their anything inexpensive but reliable or anything is good? Looking for something with a cord.

Just about any $15-20 mouse will do just fine.

Logitech Mouse.. even the basic one would do fine...
but i trust their durability given the rough use i do , its still working like a charm after 2 yrs..
Have had other mouse that lasted less than a year under the same circumstances....

I love Logitech's wireless laptop mouse. I don't know where I'd be without it!

Yep, I have a Logitech mouse too. MX518. Only the scroll wheel is messed up, but that's because I turned into an engineer overnight and thought I could tweak something inside of it. Has worked fine for 5 years now.

I use the Logitech M215. It's wireless, but I love the sensitivity, range, and battery life of it (average is 2-3 weeks, leaving it on). Also offers a good deal.

Microsoft Sidewinder X5! Its probably not in your price range, but otherwise a really awesome mouse. But i must agree. Logitech makes an amazing product, so you cant go wrong with them.

The Logitech M215 is a good choice unless you want an advanced gaming mouse. I have two of them. No problem whatsoever with them and ergonomically just fine.
I have another one which I also like and use more cause it is very good ergonomically.
Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000. $20 more than M215 but a good choice for normal activity as well,+ it has a thumb button which the M215 doesn't have.
The scroll wheel is also much more smooth and quiet then the M215.

Perhaps I'm the odd one out (I know I am at work for it) but go for a trackball, cheap, don't need much space and it does indeed have a cord.
