I know in FS2004, you can have all your AI aircraft removed from your aircraft page, but they will still show up when running FS9-the computer, and not you, controls the AI planes-you would do that by editing any AI planes .air file using an editor like AirEd and changing the aircraft type from 1, which shows up on your aircraft menu, to 2, which "ghosts" the aircraft-you won't see it on your menu. I don't know if the same thing works in FSX. Maybe there is also a lot of planes under multiple names in your menu which could slow it down, not sure about your pc's performance either. These can be changed, but you need to know how to modify aircraft cfg's,etc.
