A Few days ago my laptop fell off my desk onto the floor, my headphones were plugged into the computer when it hit the ground. It seems ever since that incident my computer always acts as if they are still plugged into the jack, which they are not. Meaning that no sound comes from the internal speakers anymore because my computer is recognizing as though the headphones are still plugged in. Even when they are no sound comes from them. Any way I can turn off or deactivate this feature/port to make sound only come out of the internal speakers, or anyone else have a solution? Thanks! P.S. every other computer system is operating normally...

The jack itself in the laptop may have been damaged if the laptop hit on the plug. If you don't have experience repairing laptops it can get a bit dicy. Just to crack the case usually requires removing a dozen screws or so. I don't know of any way to disable the headphone jack so that the hardware ignores it. Something in the jack is either shorted or open depending on the configuration.

get a pair of USB headsets and use them instead, there is a way disable a device or line in on your computer go to the bottom taskbar, where the speaker is, right-click it, select recording devices. right click the one you want to turn off and select " disable" hopefully that works for you. keep us posted

No success because it mutes the "ghost headphones"...
