Hi all...
I am running FSX with Nvidia 260. Lately I am having problems with FSX freezing midflight and then having to close FSX due a "stopped responding" message. It seems to rotate between that and "fatal error." I was wondering if anyone could post recommended Nvidia Control Panel settings as I am thinking this may help with optimization.
Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
Gus

I am interested in answer too. Now this is annecdotal - and probably a red herring, but the few times it has happened to me my computer was on a long time before starting flight, I flew for over an hour, and I had been opening and closing lots of windows throughout the flight. I seem to open/close one too many windows and poof - not responding. Love our ACARS for its recovery function.

Just a thought, but i'm thinking there is something else causing the issue and not the graphics setting on the PC. Did you recently update your graphics driver which might lead you to believe video is the problem? Delving into the OS event logs might shed a better light on what's causing the problem. It isn't a guarantee though.

Heat. Get yourself a free heat program and see what your temps are. Sounds like your card is getting way too hot - and doing that to protect the board.

I've always had problems with FSX since day 1. I am running AMD Quad Core at 3.2 Ghz, GTX260, 4GB RAM and a 750 PSU. So I do not think it is the drivers; always try to keep them up to date and still have had the same issues. Very nerve racking!

Andrew:
Temperatures seem to be normal from what I've been reading in other forums. Many, many fans going.
