How do you get that little "Approved Signature" watermark on your signature? Do you have to submit it in for review?

I always thought it was because they had premission to use the photo's in the signature, thus it's not copyright infringement.
...I may be wrong though

This is what I've thought. Perhaps one of the powers that be will answer the question.

I think they used to do it before themselves. I got mine the approved watermark by creating a Help Desk issue and Luke did it for me.

Yeah it's not automatic. There was a NOTAM that came out quite a while back (at a time when I was on a LOA or something) that basically said you had to get your sig approved by staff if it wasn't a stock DVA banner. Not sure if that's still enforced or not but i've tried to find the write-up to get in compliance but just haven't I guess.

Andrew - yours is in compliance. I made it.
They are all reviewed as they "pop up" in the cooler. If your signature is not IAW the published copyright guidelines, you will be notified by staff.

The point of the watermark is that it's an unobtrusive way of making the signature as approved in case there are questions later. It's not strictly speaking required, but if anyone has doubts about their signature it can save issues down the line.
Cheers!
