Evening all,
I'm having real difficulties flying online at the moment, in fact, just flying in FS9 in general. For no real reason, my airspeed indicator will just disappear for no reason at all. By this, I mean the speed rapidly increases (despite me trying to control it using autopilot or manually), and then the reading vanishes, meaning I have no idea what my speed is. On numerous occasions ATC has been annoyed at me because I've burst the 250kt rule, even though I can't do anything about it.
It's becoming increasingly frustrating, especially as it occurs during critical phases of flight. I've tried everything, such as turning the weather off on Squawkbox 3, switching aircraft as soon as the problem occurs and flicking just about every switch in the cockpit. Today it happened on fifteen mile final at LFPG. I nearly crashed several miles short.
I use FS9 in Windows 7, don't know the specs on my PC as I'm not a techno-genius, it says HP on the front though
Please help a fellow simmer before the computer itself learns how to fly!!

Pilot error. Turn your pitot heat on. It's icing up.

Ok, I'll give that another try. Does that even apply to before take off?

Yes - you have to turn on before takeoff. Any visible moisture (clouds, rain, snow, etc.). Our SOP was every flight it's turned on as part of the run-up
It will not clear the buildup in flight. If you drop down below 10,000 feet that usually clears it up.

Perfect. Thanks Gents. I'll give it a try and get back to you if it helps.

On before takeoff, off after landing. Do you have a registered FSUIPC?
