I start up fsx and I am usually able to fly for over an hour. Until I click one of the menu tabs it says Flight Simulator is Not Responding and then a windows opens up stating to close Flight Simulator. Usually that window for other programs will give an option to wait for the program to respond but not for FSX. Is there a was to enable that option?
I have re-installed FSX, I have re-formatted my hard drives and have re-installed windows.
The game used to work perfectly on the exact same machine about 2 years ago.
PC Specs: Windows 7 64 bit, 4 GBs of Ram, 250 gb hd, Nvidia 8400 series, 2.68 Core duo processor.
Additional Info: Both game install disks are a bit scratched up, but still installed the game.

The fix above refers to UIAutomationcore.dll which is a .Net framework component I believe. Before going down the line of the fix mentioned I would make sure that you are fully up to date with .Net service packs. Not saying it will fix the problem but the fix outlined whilst it could sort out FSX for you may screw up another .net app. To be on the safe side back up any files that you may delete/alter.

Mine does that from time to time too. I usually use the right mouse click to get between cockpit and virtual cockpit and every once and a while it locks. However, I mapped the cockpit hotkeys to my joystick and haven't had problems since! The more you can stay away from those menus the better!
