Tom, I haven't purchased it but my experience of these sort of apps as well as the 'PC tools suites' is that they just club together a lot of things that you could probably do yourself with a bit of research. If you are looking to get a bit extra from FSX you may want to try this free service first http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html Obviously someone may well have bought the app and will chime in here with their verdict.

Well I tried it and FSX is doing the same thing. FPS goes anywhere from 6 to 14 FPS but the inside of cockpit freezes up about every 45 secondss or so. I have to go control+alt+delete to unfreeze it.

Tom - what version of Windows/Direct X are you using? There are compatibilty options to mess around with if you right click on the FSX.exe, there is a 'compatibilty' tab - a good one to tick is 'disable visual themes'. Run dxdiag, on older versions of windows if you click on the 'Sound' tab there is an option to scale back on sound hardware acceleration - pull it back to basic, that can help - with no discernable change in quality. Have you tried reinstalling video drivers? I'm at work now but will post some other options later.

Tried fsx booster and multicore environment advanced before Xtreme came out
tried settings for around 3 hours and could average maybe 10-15 fps since then.
Especially if you are using lots of addons and scnenery packs it might help to get some more fps for the bucks you pay, unless you know what settings to change in fsx.cfg
I have installed the following currently:
REX2 & Overdrive, Active Sky Evolution with SP2
FSDream Zurich & Geneva, O'Hare
10 Aerosoft Mega Airport Sceneries
Switzerland Professional X
PMDG MD11, 747 QoS, BA JS41
Flight1 ATR 72-500
Multi Crew Experience MD11 Beta Test
Flight1 Audio Environment Airliner Edition
ORBX PNW, Rockies and Fijord, AUS SP4
FS Dreamscapes ProMesh for most of EU countries
vRoute Client, VATSpy
vasFMC2 (with standard B737 from FSX)
SPAD for Saitek gear
Ground Environment Extreme EU & USA
FSInn & Copilot
and some more stuff...
The PMDG aircrafts drain another 5-10 fps I have experienced
Imho, Multicore advanced did not give me any improvements since Booster did already include the "run add-ons on first core'' which is basically what multicore is enabling. Further FSX Booster has some tweaks which enables to run terrain with better performance (less graphics) and some other nifty tweaks which I could not yet manually tewak in fsx.cfg file
Their support team gave me a good tip that if you are using one GPU graphics card you should have just one entry in your fsx.cfg file otherwise you will experience performance hits, also disable 'light bloom effect' in your settings display tab on first page in fsx which took a big performance hit of up to 20 fps!
All over I cant recommend MEA with FSX Booster so I would say the same for the Xtreme version which is both combined and therefore just buy FSX Booster or similar tweak manager...
a good fsx.cfg tweak source you will find here for both 32 bit and 64 bit machines. hope this helped, cheers...

Tom - Undo any system adjustments you made for now - that should get rid of the OOM. I would try backing up your FSX.cfg, deleting the original and starting FSX. That should get you back to where you started. Aside from maybe the CPU - that system should not struggle too much with FSX. When you say rated at 5.28 ghz I assume you are not overclocking to that speed and that your CPU is running at stock speed of 2.4ghz. I have a few issues of my own at the moment but will do all I can to help.

hi tom, if you can afford it I would really recommend you to go for 64 BIT and get 6GB of ram at least since 32 bit OS is limiting your ram usage and wont get you your 4 GB. cheers

OK good news and bad news. I got my FPS up to about 15 -18 FPS. Runs pretty smooth but has to back down some of my sliders. All in all I am pleased with graphics and performance.
BUT....another issue has now popped up. My menu screen is not visible and my mouse will not allow me to right click only while I am in FSX. I also cant activate ATC through FSX. I went online and other than hitting ALT there is not much out there.
Funny thing is when I hit SHift+Z and view my FPS, if I select ALT the line will move down acting like the menu bar is there but I can't see it. Any sugestions????

Need Help. I searched online for fixes to the menu bar not displaying and the right click on the mouse not working. I have tried everything short of deleting everything I have and reinstalling. That is the absolute last thing I want to do and if I have to do that I'll probably just shelf FSX until I have time to dedicate to it. Well, I have removed alot of programs to see if any were corrupt and that did nothing for the problem. I deleted the fsx.cfg file and let FSX rebuild it but that did nothing. I am simply at a loss an frustrated. I really hope someone can give me some information that will help me fix this problem. Thanks in advance. Very frstrated in Clearwater, Fl.
