Hi,
Is it possible to get DVA IP address, assuming it is a "FIXED IP" and not a dynamic one.
Comments will be highly appreciated.

Im not admins here but as an IT Im curious to ask why you would ask DVA for an IP? Your ISP would give you a static IP to enter the WWW and if you have a network at home you would receive a DHCP configured IP with your gateway being your ISPs static IP. Let me know what your logic is here im interested in seeing what it is that you're looking for.

For sake of good order:
1. I am not asking DVA for an IP. I have one from my ISP.......
2. I was only asking if I can know DVA IP address repeat IP ADDRESS!!!
3. Hopefully, After knowing DVA IP address I hope to solve my on-going problem of not being able to start flights with ACARS
after trying all the tricks in the book..........
Does that make sense to you?
Thank you.

Checked it just now and worked

Well, that was very fast and easy to solve.
made a call to my friendly ISP tech dept this morning and what they told me didn't surprise me: the last PING in line
- i.e. DELTAVA - reached 235, very poor indeed. No wonder I can hardly communicate with ACARS online and in
real-time activities.
At this stage I would like to suggest DELTAVA management to check their servers for better communication
and to improve the stream of data as much as possible.
I the mean time I cannot start any of my flights via ACARS - online and offline. and I am not the only Israeli
DVA member who face the same problem.
Thanks, Giancarlo for enlighting me.

John, I take from your comments that inview DVA is having so many members connecting at the same time, it makes only sense
that the capacity and capabilities of DVA servers should be upgraded. hope you agree.
it would be pitty if DVA members this end wont have the same or equal possibilities of connecting to DVA services like most members
do in the western hemisphare (US, Canada or even Western Europe).

No not all. It seems that there may be a problem with restricted traffic from some ISP providers. If a provider feels that info may pose security risk even though they might not the ISP provider has the right to block the traffic. You might want to contact the provider and make sure that the DVA ip address in not blocked

A 235ms ping time isn't going to get resolved with a faster server, and we don't come close to saturating a 10 megabit connection. Could you do a full trace route to our server and post the results? We can see which stage is slow.
Cheers

Luke is right a traceroute should clear up why its 235ms. Im getting more than that and im pinging from Atlanta. My traceroute has me leaving Georgia Tech and hitting Michigan, California, and then the NY state area up to the DVA servers in Penn. Not sure if its the servers at Tech that routed me out west but it was only one stop in Califronia from what I can tell.

To your request, here's a"Trace Route" I managed to do few minutes ago:

Just looked up those IP's and your big jump is from 8-10 (9 being an inner router it seems) from Tel Aviv to Virginia. Then it goes to Kansas for some reason before hitting the DVA servers in Penn. Everything but the Kansas bit makes sense to me.

I'll look later tonight where those links might be, but it's worth noting that ping times could double or triple without causing connections to fail. The connection timeout is 12 seconds, the login timeout is a few more seconds, and disconnection timeout is 2 minutes.
You seem to be able connect and login, and then the inactivity timer gets you. It doesn't appear to be a problem related to ping times, and more that something in between us is blocking traffic.
Cheers

BTW Kansas pings start at 12 and end at 16. Not sure why its routed that way when Atlanta has such fast routing to the NorthEast.

That would explain why my traceroute was also spending time out in the midwest. The last ping though which I posted up here a lil while ago 74.208.112.18 keeps coming up in Penn. After looking a bit deeper deltava.org as a hostname is actually a canonical name for pollux.gvagroup.org which is the main site for DVA and AFV. The DVA servers may be in Kansas which would explain the route but maybe the company selling the IP address is out of Penn (wayne, penn to be exact).

A 250ms ping time from the Middle East to North America isn't unreasonably long, and the fact that you are able to log into ACARS indicates that it's acceptable. Something is blocking the connection, and I do not know what.
