I'm curious to know how to log time in the B717. I see it's part of the fleet now... Is it part of the MD-88 program? I never took that checkride but I think I was "grandfathered" in on account of gaining that rating after being a 737 captain quite a few years ago, so although I have the MD-88 rating, I can see how it wouldn't have "retro-fitted" me with the 717 if it's in that group.
I'm not entirely certain I'd get around to flying the 717 on account of already having my hands full with the fleet DC-9 and the Maddog... but I was still just curious to know if it's something we can actually log time in. It's not listed for me under my additional ratings.
Thanks a bunch!

It is indeed part of our fleet. It was added when Delta and Hawaiian signed a Codeshare Agreement. To my knowledge, the 717 is only appears in our schedule on the Inter-Island Flights in Hawaii. You must take the MD-Checkride and associated Tests to attain the B717 rating.

Once you are rated - you can fly the 717 on any flight in the schedule as long as it will make the distance

I don't think grandfathering happens at all. I'm pretty sure I read that a while ago.

That sounds good, guys. Thanks!
It was so long ago that I obtained a few of these ratings that I just can't recall how it all went down... My profile page ( http://www.deltava.org/profile.do?id=0x92aed ) and Testing center leads me to believe that, when I passed my 737 Captain's exam, I got the other ratings for all the aircraft at that stage at that time (Caravelle, DC-9-14, DC-9-32, DC-9-50, MD-88, MD-90). I just have no record of an MD88 check ride. Whether I sent a separate request to Luke, or the checkride was accidentally deleted from my test center, or obtaining extra ratings was policy at the time, I just can't recall.
All I know is that I've logged a bunch of flights with that MD-88 and I certainly love it! If I have to take the checkride now, then I have to take the checkride now!
Thanks again.

Okay, last ratings question from me! I promise... :-)
Why is it that in the "Add Additional Ratings" drop down I see "767" as an option?? I'm already a Captain in that program and my Eligibility page indicates that that's the program in which I'm enrolled...
Thanks!

There must be A/C within that 767 Program you have yet to attain.

Okay, that's what I was wondering, but when that was the case with the 737, it displayed a list of additional aircraft... However, that's not my primary equipment, so I'm sure the messaging is different for the program that IS my primary. Seems likely to me... Thanks!
