This was on final into JFK this afternoon. I was on a 10 mile final and this plane came out of no where. To top it off, ATC makes me go around! Enough I say. Moving on to Radar Contact, and when I muster enough courage...Vatsim.

I stopped using FS ATC a long time ago.
VATSIM is a great tool when you get into it. If you have any questions, just ask here or in ACARS.

Mark I was using RC4 one day flying into a remote strip in Texas and the crazy thing is there was a plane that landed just before me and the controller cleared me to land right up to when the guy makes a 180 on the runway heading back for me and never clears. Had to do a go aropund just to clear him

Also worth looking at is AISmooth. You can google the file. It does a fairly good job of routing aircraft and vectoring them so keep you moving on your way. When I'm not on VATSIM and want to use AI aircraft I use AISmooth, but it doesn't provide any ATC function for you. I believe you can use it with Radar Control.

Well I'm going to make my 2nd flight on Vatsim Saturday morning as part of the Toronto Real Ops event. If all goes well, there may be no turning back.

Good luck! VATSIM is a ton of fun when you get comfortable with it. The Toronto event should be a good one. You should try a simple YYZ-YUL flight while CZUL is on at the same time. Full coverage all the way there.

Sounds like a good idea. I was looking at CYEG-CYYZ, but that might be a better idea.

I only use the FS ATC if no controlers are around. Outside the online events that's usually the case.

IMHO, I think RCv4 is worth the money.
