I just did a check ride for the OLP course in the flight academy. I did everything good, except that I took off with flaps at 0 because I forgot. The conditions for automatic failure say "Improper speed/flap usage (stall, breaking flaps) and it seems a bit fuzzy, so I'm wondering if it still gets accepted. This is in the CRJ-200.

Probably depends who you get to review it. I would be willing to bet some people are easier than others on checkrides.

Nope.....we list what is pass or fail in the checkride script.......also the new P2 rating from VATSIM will require the checkride to be flown by hand, no autopilot, etc.....stay tuned...

I did that on one of my many 777 CR attempts. I realized my mistake during climbout, so I just started over to make it perfect (Well, not really if you look in my logbook.).

I don't see any requirement from VATSIM that this CR be handflown and unless its to be flown in a light aircraft its fairly unrealistic to hand fly the whole flight. IMHO, resource management (including autopilot use outside of the terminal area) under ATC guidance should also be considered.

On the information that we received from VATSIM for the VATSIM P2 and our ATO requirements, one of the many requirements is " 1. Be able to maintain while hand flying the aircraft 1. Altitude +- 100 ft 2. Heading +- 10 degrees 3. Airspeed +- 10 knts IAS " Delta VA can put many requirements in our online PPL course, but inorder to be approved as a VATSIM ATO to issue their P2 rating, we must meet and/or exceed the requirements that they sent to us for our ATO approval process inorder to be able to award the VATSIM P2. Since there are many required stages to this course and rating, we will have "stage checks" (mini checkrides) to meet the requirements along with a "multi guess" written test. Stay tuned......
