Unfortunately there is no good solution to this problem. I recently read that since FSX is a 32 bit app it has a limit of 4GB of virtual memory (IE the size the app can take up in your ram). To make matters worse, FSX has been coded so poorly that it will not release textures once used for example, your NY textures. Even if you leave NY and fly to London FSX still has those textures loaded to memory. I find that while textures make FSX look stunning they come at a serious price of frame rates and app stability. I recently downgraded my REX textures to 1024 rather than the 4048 (or however large they are) because I was getting constant FSX crashes. That being said, the graphics card can probably help you the most, just make sure it has a TON of onboard ram.
