Hello-
I find that FSX is prone to being unstable on my machine, but I've noticed certain things which help. For example, not having anything else running (FSX only). Also, certain planes seem to be very unstable.
I tried playing with the F/A-18 the other day, which is part of the Acceleration version of FSX, and FSX would completely crash now and then. So I don't fly that plane any more.
Flying the stock 737-800, it seems pretty stable. However when I add ACARS and Squawkbox and fly a route in online mode, every now and then I get this "staticy" sound and the program freezes up, sometimes for just a second or two, sometimes longer, and sometimes doesn't come back at all.
What do you think is going on here?
My system is a laptop I bought a couple years ago with an Intel Core i3 processor (2.1 GHz), 4G of memory, an external monitor, a Thrustmaster joystick/throttle, Saitek pedals and a mic.
