I've been having a lot of probs. w/ FS2004 for awhile now (note my previous posts). Even though i got the game running again, it really is still giving me a lot of probs. For example, the frame rate is extremely slow. I've reduced all the settings and still very slow. Also this seems to be mostly when I'm using delta aircrafts. Also, every time i load real-world weather, it'll work for a few minutes, then a message will come up saying FS could not load real-world weather because it could not establish an internet connection. I have comcast, and my internet is always connected, when i check to make sure i can see it is connected. An even bigger problem is that sometimes I'll just be playing flight simulator and all of the sudden, the screen will go black and the game will quit; an error message will come up saying flight simulator has expierienced an error and needs to close. Sometimes this will happen when i load a flight, sometimes it will happen when i try to switch views, and sometimes when i'm just flying. It's really frustrating as i haven't been able to comlplete a flight in a long time. Can anyone help??????
My specs:
WindowsXP home edition
Version 2002
Serv. pack 1
Compaq: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.70 GHz
512MB of RAM
Thanks in advance.

It doesn't seem to be a game problem. Seems to be Windows that is screwed up. You might have spyware or any processes that are eating a LOT of CPU. My suggestion: download LavaSoft Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and scan the computer for spyware. I would suggest in also, if that doesn't fix the problem, uninstalling every add-on for FS, uninstall FS and then start from a clean installation. Check if your Video Cards drivers are the latest also.
That's all what I can think about, now. With Windows, the best solution for everything is.. "format C:" in the command prompt. - Go Linux!
Lemme know if you still need any help.
Cheers!

Have you run ScanDisc or Defrag lately?
I run both of these once a week to keep as much frame rate as possible on this old tub. If your disc is corrupt or has errors, Scandisc can fix a lot of this on it's own. Of course, it could be more serious than that.
I notice all sorts of strange things on my computer if I miss a Scandisc or defrag. The modem will not disconnect, programs freeze for no apparent reason, the modem will not connect, programs will not open or close, etc., etc.
