The B727 throttle quadrant turned out better than I expected. The Thrustmaster was a bit of a challenge to get mounted in the housing and then construct the linkage, but it's working.
As I suspected, all of the wiring going into the grip was on a plug attached to a socket on the main board, so no wire cutting was needed. The only thing I used was the potentiometer set up for the throttle itself.
The base is mounted inside the quadrant housing at about a 20 degree up angle towards the front to get the correct throw on the throttles. The linkage was made from sheet steel after I folded the edges over to increase stiffness. The linkage is attached to the throttle levers using 4-40 stainless screws nuts and washers and is attached to the Thrustmaster arm using the stock cap head scews that secured the original TQS grip.
The start levers under the throttles have not been installed yet, but this is minor since they are cosmetic only. They also don't sit in a lowered portion of the center of the quadrant because of height clearance needed for the base of the Thrustmaster TQS.
The flap, speedbrake, and trim markings didn't turn out as planned because my print cartridge is running low on ink and they turned out sort of a light purple. They look good but they're the wrong color. THey are attached using a spray adhesive that is removable, so when this ink cartridge finally dies I'll re-do them in white on grey instead of white on purple.
When I get aroundtuit, I'll get some photos up. The only thing I don't like is that it's to my left instead of my right because I'm using an FLSC stick which is right-hand only.
