Specs:
Intel i5 2600k (I think??)
8GB Ram
nVidia 970 - Widescreen setup 5190x1080
550 watt power supply
P3Dv3
Windows 10
The usual add-ons - PMDG, ORBX, ASN, ETC.
Sliders are set pretty high, average FPS varies from 20-30 depending on locations, weather the normal factors. I am trying to get consistent 30+fps regardless of location/weather
EDIT: FPS Set to max 60 in P3D
The other day while trying to improve my frame rates I noticed (through nvidia inspector) that my GPU load was never more than about 50%. I would get the occasional spike to 70%, but consistently my GPU load was rather low. My CPU load was also rather low as well. Core 0 was churning away at 90-100% but cores 1-3 were pretty much just chillin. I thought about adjusting affinitymask = 14 but all that did was move the load from core 0 to core 1 with about the same performance.
I am wondering why am I getting so little use out of my GPU? I thought P3D was suppose to make more use of graphics hardware and be less CPU intensive than FSX was. Do you guys have any suggestion how to get the most out of my hardware? Is this normal for anyone else running a similar setup? Is there a way to force the system to load up the hardware more to get the most out of my hardware?
Thanks in advanced.
