Hi guys. I just experienced my second FSX CTD in a row in as long as I can remember... I have a sneaking suspicion that vpilot / Microsoft .NET Framework issues may be the culprit... But first time it froze up in the PMDG 737NGX climbing thru FL280. Then on the next flight she froze up just after the T.O.D. DSound.DLL is the faulting module.
The only thing I can think is a couple of weeks ago I tried to install the IVAO_MTL AI pack on this hard drive because I had it with my old one before they quit supporting it. But ever since I deleted all of that content (MTL library was around 4.5 - 5 GB ) a warning has been coming up randomly mid-flight titled .NET Framework and says something about a script not running correct. It gives me three options either continue which never cures it, details which is gibberish, and quit. When I click quit a vpilot window comes up making sure I want to close vpilot when I'm still connected to the VATSIM Server.
One other possibly more likely possibility is I installed to flyawaysimulation atc simulator 2 demo yesterday. It put a couple of sound files in my Windows directory that I cannot remove because other windows services or process' are using them.
Anyways if you've experienced this at all and know the cure, I look forward to finding that out.
I will un-install then re-install vpilot as soon as I hang up
