This evening I will push to the mirrors three files; updated B737 installers for FS2002 and 2004 to fix the FS9 GPS issue in the NG panel, and a new MD-11 Installer that includes IFDG's brand new MD-11 1.5 model.
Cheers!

Quick question on the Tristar installer--did it get a new panel? I wasn't going to bother downloading it but I thought I remembered hearing something about a new panel coming with the installer revisions.
Can't wait for the new and improved Mighty Dog!

I think so. I honestly can't remember what the old one looked like. I know that there are a good number of new textures for the -500.

The 737 and MD-11 installers are being pushed out as I speak; I'll update the Fleet Library before I go to bed.
On another note, there's about to be a new installer added to the Fleet Library for you historical buffs - it has four supercharged piston engines.
Cheers!

BTW, Luke, I found a graphical problem on the Air France 707, not that there's really much we can do about it...somebody stole all the engine internals. You can look down the front of the nacelles and see right out the back. Looks like one of those FS2002 model glitches.
I also can't get any of the textures on the 738 to show up except for the Delta Shuttle NNC, but I'll just fix up the aircraft.cfg manually for those. One of the CRJ-200 textures won't show up either...I think it's the Comair 25th anniversary special. They're in the list, but the plane comes out with blank gray all over.
Thank you guys for all the work putting these installers together. They make it SO much easier on those of us who know just enough to screw our systems up, but not quite enough to fix them afterwards!

Yes, the 707-320 is the old FS2000 model with some updates for FS2002. The fact that it works at all with FS9 is a minor miracle. I tried out the CRJ and all the textures appear for me. Which 737 installer are you using? The one for FS2002/2004 or the 2004-only version?
Cheers!

I figured it out, Luke. The installer didn't replace the existing 737-800 textures when I ran it, so I had the functional Kittyhawk Delta Shuttle NNC, but had the old model NC and NNC textures. I just deleted the texture folders and reran.

Just a heads-up; the Fleet should now have the updated 737, MD-11 (with the 1.5 model), DC-6 and 7E7. Please note that the 7E7 has been added for novelty value only; the FDE stinks and until Delta or Air France even commit to ordering the thing I highly doubt it will even exist in the authorized equipment list.
Cheers!

The DC-6 is great! I went into the panel.cfg and uncommented the line for the "clipboard" gauge; that's a neat piece of work, it'll tell you your V1 and VR speeds and estimated range/endurance, plus optimum cruise altitudes and power settings for long-range and max-performance cruises. It's like having a flight engineer with all the books handy.
Regarding the 747-100...has anybody else had problems keeping the nose gear on this thing? Unless I remove all passengers from the plane and drop the fuel to 10% or less, if I select the airplane, the nose gear instantly collapses. I can then put the weight back up to full and it's fine. It looks like it drops the nose from a few feet in the air as soon as the plane is selected, and it crushes the gear.
As soon as I get the 747 jacked back up and get the gear fixed, I think I'm gonna take it out tonight...either JFK-LAX, or the old historic Delta 747 route, MIA-ATL-LAX.

Yeah, I have that same problem, but it's only if I select it after previously using another aircraft (but after it loads from the crash the nose starts to sink as if it was going to give way again, but catches itself). If that is the first aircraft I use then the gear won't collapse. Example: if I start the flight with the MD-11 and then select the 741 the gear collapses. However, if it's the first plane I select from the opening menu then it won't happen. Another thing, the DC-6 is great, but I can only use it if I start out with another a/c and then select it. Otherwise flight simulator closes when it tries to load, but it is a great plane!

The DC-6 blowing up unless you start with another aircraft like the c172 seems to be a bit of a known issue. It did that for me, but my reading on the calclassic.com message board made it appear to me that it happened to enough folks that I'd just deal with it and let y'all take your chances.
The crashes on selection problem is another issue. I have the exact same issue, not with the 741, but with the 762. I'll see if I can tweak the contact point for the nosegear to fix this. What aircraft is this happenning with, *and at what specific airports?*
Cheers!

Well, the 747-100 collapsing the nosegear kept happening at KATL and KSEA both. I loaded it tonight at KJFK with 40% fuel and the default pax load, and when I popped into the sim, the front of the plane bounced, but the gear stayed up. It's like the plane starts with the nosegear a few feet off the ground and then "drops" into its normal stance, and with the default load (which is 38,000 pounds over MTOW), it's enough to collapse the nosewheel.

very cool, my repaint of the 7E7 made it on there! (Mine is the OOC). I noticed the 727 replace the flight engineer's view with a wing view. No offense, but I was less than thrilled with that. I put back the old panel. Also, what is this B1900 in the aircraft database? Is that a beachcraft, and why is it there?

How about making us automatically get a 7E7 rating if we fly the 757/767, or make a 7E7 program. After all, there's the 727, L-1011, and DC-8 programs, none of which Delta flies anymore. So we could have current, historic, and futuristic. just a thought....

I certainly agree that just because Delta does not currently use an aircraft should not disqualify it from the fleet; our historical programs have some extensive coverage of aircraft not often used, such as my beloved CV-880 or the 747-100, or which Delta only ever owned 2 or 3 aircraft for a few years. However, the 7E7 falls neither into the category of a current aircraft, nor a past aircraft. Since Delta has placed no orders, it isn't even a future aircraft. If this changes at some point in the future, I anticipate DVA's attitude will change as well.
Regarding the collapsing gear, I was tweaking the 767-200 today at KDFW. I was having serious problems last weekend on the group event when switching to spot or overhead view and then closing the window with a nosegear bounce. What I did was search in the aircraft.cfg for the [contact_point] section, and then the point.0 line. There should be an entry (the 4th) on that line for the vertical position of the nosegear - you will want to change this by a SMALL amount - I changed the 762's from -9.750 to -9.775 which translates to an inch or so, and then increased the vertical speed damage threshold from -1181 to -1381, which still gives us a little bounce when switching but no crash. You might want to avoid touching the vertical damage threshold and just tweak the vertical position.
I'll take a peek at the 741; the 767 installer needs a new push anyways since there's a new 762 texture being added this week as well. Anyone get this with the 763 or 764?
Cheers!

I haven't had the collapsing nosegear happen with our 763, but I have had it happen with other POSKY 762s and 763s in the past, and the CRJ-200 a couple of times. I always have the bounce after closing a second window from spot or overhead view, in all planes, but it's more noticeable in some than in others (and come to think of it, it's pretty noticeable in the POSKY birds, especially the CRJ-200).
