I want to change my Geforce 4 MX440 (PCI) 64mb, I am considering another Geforce card, the FX5200 AGP of 256mb. Has anyone here got this card? is it recommendable?
This is my actual system: PIV 1.8g 512 RAM 64mb PCI video card. I ran FS2002 with all the display settings topped and get an average of 25fps. When I installed FS9 my frames dropped way too much. I think that if I buy this card I can start using FS9 without having a huge impact in my frames.
So, is it a good card for FS9??

Pablo,
The FX5200 is not known to be a good card, if you want to go to a 256MB card I'd recommend you to go with the 5600/5700.
Current benchmark tests prove what I say. I'll try to get you a link.
Cheers!

.. or an ATI 9700/9800. There's no reason to get a 256MB video card unless you have a strong compulsion to spend money.
Cheers!

I'm currently using the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 256 in the new machine and its doing a great job. Just be sure that when you upgrade video cards you have a strong enough power supply to feed it.

I have a system with: Athlon 2200+, 1.25 Gb DDR, and had the Nvidia 40/400 MX with 64 Mb, and start to have problems with video when start to pu on payware......changed the video to 256 Mb ATIRadeon 9600, it cost about 100 US here in Mexico, and it solved my trouble with video, to FPS 30-40 with detailed scenery (Mexico 2004 from Flymex). Hope this helps
Salud!

I told you Boss....don't waste money on that card, for your budget the 5500 is a better option.

I have a Radeon X300 128mb one. It's probably cheap, but it works fine if you don't want to spend much money.
