I just saw a thread on this for the 757, so I'm wondering if it is also the Lonny Payne panel, though I know many of you use it w/o problems.
I was late to the SEA-SLC party tonight but on my way and about to level off at 370 when the plane (which had been perfoming well up until that point) suddenly tilted up and stalled. Despite any maneuvers I tried (I could imagine being a real passenger in this situation!), I could not pull out. I ended up disconnecting and moving on to do some ATC.
I haven't the foggiest idea what happened, but I know this has been posted before. I don't suspect balance/fuel is the issue because the climb went well. I suspect the trim issue showed up, I just don't know how to stop it.
I'll do a re-install and see how it goes. Nothing like wasting a good 45 minutes getting ready, taking off, and climbing for nothing.

Yeah, well, Marshall, the thing is that when the air is thiner weight and balance come to play an important role. It may not be the fuel, but it might be the payload, check if you are not having a heavy tail while a light nose.
Btw, are you the same MIA CTR?
Cheers!

Good point. I'll check the balance next time and yes, I do work at MIA CTR frequently. I hope you know my name from good service and not some major &^%*^& I caused!

Definitely let us know, Marshall... I'm one that it happened to, as well. I finally went on a quest for a new panel because I also wasn't happy with wasting the setup time only to have the thing pitch up like one of Tex Avery's wolves when Red walked by.... Anyway, let us know what happens. I really liked the Lonny Payne panel, but I wasn't going to deal with that...

I had the same problem. So I switched to the 737-800 panel. Both twin engine aircraft and I liked alot of the bells and whistles on that panel and i haven't had a problem with it since. Haven't found any decent freeware 757 panels out there other than the lonny payne one, which is good but it has its minuses.

If you are having a problem with pitch up and stalls at altitude with the Lonny Payne panel, make sure that you have the pitot heat turned on.

Bill, do we need to keep the Pitot heat on the whole flight?

Yes pitot heat should be on the whole flight. I typically turn it on during my preflight and leave it on until I get to the gate.

okay, I'll try that too. I mentioned in my other post about the Lonny Payne panel that I'm willing to give it a try again.. I also asked a question about loading fuel...
