Hello And Welcome to DVA, Seeing that you are relitively new to the Organization, In the Pilots Center Under Documents, you will find a wealth of information to help answer alot of your questions. Periodically questions do arise that are not covered in the manuals, and hence you post them here, Hopefully I can answer some of what you need to know.
"To become a captain of the 737 program you need to submit a video using the 737-800 (or fly on line)."
You need to First become a FO in the 737, By 1st completing and passing the FO officer examination in the Pilot test Center. 2nd You need to Succesful completion of an online checkride or submitted Flight Video, showing familiarity and compentance handleing of the A/C in a VOR approach.

Weird, He he, that is what I though to when I got into this, I originally got into this just to be able to fufill a desire that only a select few people can acomplish in life, and "FLY" a Aircraft. As the years tick away for me, I envy those who are doing just that, Flying GA's and Obtaining the instrument ratings, and moving up the food chian, as it were. We do not expect everyone here to become or Virtually become a real world Pilot, but we do try to make this as real as it can be for people like me You, and everyone else with the desire to fly, so we came up with a happy medium to make it enjoyable for all. On pages 2-4 of the promotion manual, you will see exactly what I am talking about. Please don't take this as critism, there is alot in there that I don't want to type, LOL. My typing is pretty slow he he.

"I know DVA does not use 737-600/700 in the flight schedules or equiptment. Is that b/c Delata does not (based on operating manual they dont). Just looking for comments..."
No, Delta as in the real world does not utilize the 600/700 class of the 737, as such neither do we, DVA tries as best as it can to mimic the real world, I can be stood correct if I am wrong on this, but this is what I have gathered throughout my tenure here with them. Some of the code share partners still fly the 600/700. My suggestion for you, is when you are ready to make the transition, you get the 737-800 from the fleet library, the aircraft is much easier to comprehend, though the PMDG is the cream of the crop in flight charataristics, the installer flies just as well as the PMDG.
I hope this helped you out some, It was not meant to degrade you or such, besides, you are my first customer, He he, in my new role here at DVA, if there is anything you need to know, that you can't find, this is the place to post it, there are alot of very talanted people here at DVA , that will greatly help you out in anything you may need to know.
