I have the same problams and Terry Doumlas. On top of those problem I cannot engage my autopilots on both the B727 & A310. I will click the autopilot master switch, and they will shut off right away. The 727 is the airplane I like the most and i don't want to slow down on my flying because of some little problems. If there is anyone out there who can give me a hand that would be awesome. thanks to all who help

The A310s autopilot will engage after you engage the Yaw Damper in the overhead panel, along with the Pitch Trim.
Cheers!

The yaw damper on the B727 must be engaged as well for the auto pilot to function. In addition if you change modes while using the AP it will disengage. It will also disengage if you change the nav frequency and the AP is in NAV mode.
At least that's the way it's supposed to work. If you are using the Probst panel, it could be different.

well I uninstalled the old 27 and downloaded the newest version of the 27. It has a new panel and another texture. Another problem is that the trim is way to sensitive. I only like to use the autopilot in the later stages of my climb, and then for my crusie. I enjoy handflying the thing all the way down to the runway. This new panel doesn't want me to do that. One click of up or down trim will give me a really good jolt. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thank
Josh Hooper

I wish I could help, but I'm flying the old model. What with all the new B722's on the market, I may be the only one here flying the old fleet installer. You might want to post this in GD to get an answer faster.
Just curious, are the yaw damper switches on the lower right of the captain's panel below the control surface position indicator?

I forgot to add, (if the panel is capable) the lower yaw damper is powered electrically from the Essential Radio Bus, upper yaw damper is powered from the No. 2 Radio Bus. Make sure these busses are switched on. Also make sure Hydraulic System A and B are both switched on.
Here are the correct interlocks for the AP operation:
Mandatory interlocks are at least one yaw damper switched on and it's disengage flag out of view, turn and pitch controller in neutral detent, operating vertical gyro if these conditions are correct you will be able to engage the aileron switch. To engage the elevator switch the aileron switch must be engaged and the cruise stabilizer trim switch must be in the normal position.
The auto pilot will disengage if any of the following actions or conditions occur. Yaw damper positioned to off, capt or co pilot press autopilot release switch, power to vertical gyro is lost, switching compass source or power to A/P aileron (roll) is lost. Elevator channel disengage will occur if the stabilizer trim switch is activated, pitch channel selector is switched (A or B) cruise trim switch is activated, A/P and cruise trim cutout switches positioned to cutout, electrical power to the A/P elevator (pitch) is lost.
A/P mode will return to manual (turn and pitch knob) if any of the following occur reference VHF/GPS/INS is switched, turn and pitch controller moved out of detent, ILS frequency is switched while in approach mode.

do you try to engage the ap at the main panel or at the overhead? I flew it yesterday and the autopilot worked perfect.

I'm not familiar with the new installer, but there should be no AP controls on the overhead (if the aircraft if modeled realistically).
