I am looking at creating a "special" fleet installer for testing purposes.
Essentially, it would contain two POSKY NNC 757s, one using the standard 24-bit POSKY bitmaps and the other using those bitmaps converted by me to DXT3 format. We're going to investigate the size difference between the two, and I'll also need you to tell me if you see a significant quality difference.
Please remember that the mandate for the Fleet Installers is not to be the "ultimate" DVA livery; it is instead designed to combine high-quality models and textures with the ability to be run on typical DVA member systems. Having seen the system spec statistics that your installers give me, there are a lot of PIII boxes around, with GF2MX video cards. I thought I had only a "mid-range" system, but an Athlon XP 1700 and Radeon 9600Pro puts me in the upper third of DVA systems. I need to remember everyone here.
Any volunteers, especially Matt/David?
Cheers!
Luke

OK, I've got the folks I need. I have a *very* busy day today with company coming, cleaning the house and getting all the charts and assignments ready for the event tonight so this may wait until tomorrow.
In the interim, please make sure that you have a panel aliased to FSFSConv\PANEL.JET.757, since I will not include a panel in the installer to save time and space.
Cheers!
