I am looking into the Flight One 767 as I have the Iron Knuckles DC 9 and am very happy with it. But I am concerned about frame rate hits and smooth operations with my machine as the PMG 737-600 does not work well on my machine.
Would this be the same with the Flight One 767 or is it a lest demanding application.
My machine is as follows
Windows XP
1 GIG Ram
CPU Intel Celeron 1.80 HZ 1793 MHZZ
Memory 1023 MB
Nivida GeForce FX 500 128 MB

It should work. I have basically the same machine as you, but with a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 card. I get good FPS (around 15) running ActiveSky 2004.5 in the Virtual Cockpit.

The 767 offers less of a frame rate hit than the early 737's. You should have happy flying! Good luck!

The LDS 767 is actually a little easier on framerates than the PMDG 737-800/-900. And, the -800 is better on framerates than the original -600/-700. So I think you'll be OK. The VC does give you a bit of a framerate hit, but it's considerably less than either PMDG 737, and you should have no problem with the 2D panel at all. The 767's panel is overall a bit simpler (fewer complex MFDs and more simple round gauges), and they don't try to make the FMC usable in the VC. You must bring up the FMC in a popup in order to use it in VC mode; it's a minor inconvenience, but it really helps VC framerates. My system's a bit stronger than yours (Athlon XP 2500+, 1GB PC2700 RAM, GF 6600GT 128MB 8X AGP) and the VC in the PMDG just crushes it; the 767 is just fine.
One big help is that the LDS 767 lets you install paints in DXT3 format instead of 32-bit. That helps a lot if you ever go to spot or VC view while flying. The 767 also does not have a virtual cabin, which saves a little more horsepower.

The LDS763 is much better on the frame rates than the PMDG 738 - you will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for the information I am just about convinced that I will go for it. The thing I want to avoid is a purchase which needs to be side lined until I buy a new computer which is not possible at this time. The 767 is defintely worth the gamble. When that happens I will call upon you all again for advice.
Thanks again

Tom,
With 1 GIG of ram, you shouldn't have any problems with frame rates.

Thanks everyone for the super information. I bought the Levle D tday and have it on the computer. Fantastic in a word.I flew the things with no information and got it out of Boston and back down on the runway. The FMC is light years ahead of PMG much easier to use. It will be a while before I fly it in public but will have a ball learning this excellent aircraft. Flight One knows their business.
Frame rates in the air were 15 t0 19 and above 7 on the ground near the aiidon Boston Scenery, I am satisified.
Thanks again,
