I was just wondering what the timetable is going to be before we can start flying the Alaska routes now that Delta is a codeshare partner with them? Also, if you guys need the help, I am willing to go find the schedules for Alaska airlines so it can be posted on the pilot center. Sorry if I seem alittle impatient, but Alaska is the best place to practice foul weather flying, which is my favorite type of flying.

I just looked at the Alaska timetable and didn't see any codeshare flights on there yet. Are there any on the current DAL timetable yet?

Download the latest Delta timetable. http://www.delta.com/schedules/travel/reservations/flight_sched/index.jsp They're there, although someone screwed up, so it says operated by Delta Air Lines, but you can figure out which are actually Delta and which are Alaska. (DAL doesn't fly up and down the western coast anymore, and we don't fly 734s or 739s either...)

I just had a question after reading these last two posts. With Alaska as a Codeshare partner can we just fly the codeshare routes or can we fly any route Alaska flies? How does that work?

Matt,
DVA only allows codeshare flights that are on the real world DAL timetable, except for the unlimited use of Air France flights. As of right now, Alaska Airlines isn't available as an option on our PIREP form, and Luke is pretty backlogged so it may be a bit before we can get it added. Let me see if we can come up with a way to use them in the interim and I'll post back here.
Also, you may not know that DAL offered service to Alaska in 727's at one point in time. Cities served by them were Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, though the routes started and ended in California. If I recall, they're DVA flights 8401 and 8402. I realize that it's probably not going to open up quite as many Alaskan cities as you'd like, but it's a start!

that will work. Thanks Matt. Just curious about the whole code sharing thing I guess. I mean, I know that in alot of circumstances the flight will be a Delta route but another airline will fly the plane for that route. Seen that a few times in chicago with Lufthansa and United on the International routes. But it doesn't open up the other airlines total operation though right? i mean, they only work some of the routes right, not all of them right? i hope this makes sense, I know my question seems a bit confusing. I mean, Delta probably won't have a codeshare flight on some of the flights between say Anchorage and out into the Aleutians or up towards Nome or anything like that, just the main routes between say Anchorage and Seattle? Or will it?

Alaska Airlines will be added to the airline list in the next few days, and you may fly them as you like. We won't be offering schedule support, however, and you'll need to locate the flights in the DAL or Alaska timetables. The flights currently are DAL flight numbers 9025-9124, but they are not listed as codeshare flights on the Alaska timetable.
