This is my first VA, happy to be here, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I am a long time flt sim pilot, but have only been flying online for a short time.
I have a couple of questions, first, if I choose to fly a flight that does not have a flight number what Flt# should I use in the PIREPS.
Second, when flying online if I go to ServInfo and click on my plane, how do I get Delta VA to show up under the aircraft description, right now it is just showing the aircraft type, but I noticed that everyone else has there airline type also?
Thanks

What airline you are is what your callsign is. I will appear as Delta if my callsign is DAL664, or i wilol appear as Southwest is my callsign is SWA1575. It's just what you put down i think.

Nope, I have some family there, but different last name.
I love my new Delta 757-200, how long have you been flying yours, and what do you think about it.

Welcome! You will learn a LOT here. Use the flight number found on either http://www.skyteam.com/ or from the downloadable schedules on http://www.delta.com/ and http://www.songair.com/
Read the Online Flying Manual. I think it says to put in the notes section, /V/DELTA (the v means voice. use T for text, or R for receive voice, but transmit text [like if you don't have a mic.]).
Lonny Payne's panels are EXCELLENT, aren't they? http://www.fs2002panels.netfirms.com/ The DVA 757/767 uses them.

Thanks for the help, your right the manual answered all of my questions. I guess I should have looked there first.
The panels are great, I have been used to just the basic panels that come with Flt Sim 200 Pro, they are nice, but dont have a lot of the goodies.

Robert,
Welcome on board and to the online skies of DVA. When flying online you can use either your Pilot ID substituting DAL for DVA or the DAL flight number. The majority of pilots use their Pilot ID since it is constant. Your flying buddies can find you if they input your ID in ServInfo.
To PIREP a flight you will need a DAL flight number from the current DVA schedule, DAL real world schedule, DAL codeshare or Air France. If no flight number exists than the flight is not valid.

Thanks Terry, that?s very helpful. I do have a couple of more questions if you don?t mind, one why do we swap DVA with DAL, and does any other VA use DAL? Two, I pressed on the ?Request Signature? button, does it work, and can I create my own signature?
Thanks Robert.

The 'Request Signature" button does not work any longer. The person who created the signatures either isn't here or doesn't do it anymore. Feel free to create your own. The size restrictions are posted in the Rules section for the forum.
I can't really answer your call-sign question, but I always use the Delta flight number. I want there to be no mistake about the airline I'm flying for.

Robert,
We use the real world designation, DAL, for Delta Airlines as do most other VA when signing on for online flying. There is one other Delta VA that is small and not a factor when flying online. You will find that other pilots will ocassionaly use your callsign. This is coincidental and not an issue. Your VATSIM and IVAO registration number is a unique and personal ID.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, and the answers to my questions. I have a feeling that I will be spending a lot of time with DVA.
