I changed my e-mail address because of being spammed repeatedly. Now when I try to send a message I receive this error and I don't know what to do to fix it:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'flightsimmer@sbcglobal.net'. Subject 'Read: E-Mail', Account: 'boeing722@earthlink.net Mail Account', Server: 'smtpauth.earthlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Please configure your mail client to use authentication.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
It doesn't matter who I'm trying to e-mail, the error is the same. Receiving E-mail is no problem.
Can anyone help?

Go into your account settings under the server tab, Check you Smtp Account, that would be your outgoing server , make sure that you have the correct SMTP setting in there, it should look something like, smtp.ABC123.com or xyxpdq.abc123.net, it all depends on what earthlink uses, They should of given you that info when you sset up the account with them.

Michael,
You might also want to check if your SMTP server needs authentication... or any other special connection... I'd figure that Earthlink Tech will help you out on how to set up this. I'm not very profficient with Outlook Express or Outlook so I can't help you with that one

Michael,
You should have received an email from Earthlink in Sept. announcing the need to change your email SMTP server and configuration for outgoing mail. They offer an online update at earthlink.net to handle the modification or they provide the settings for you to do it manually.

I did receive that e-mail and downloaded and ran their little installer or editor and everything was fine until I changed my address.
I re-ran the installer or editor and it told me everything was correct on my system.
I went to Earthink's tech support and found I had to make a change. I think it's working OK now. I e-mailed Luke a second ago and it seemed to work with no errors occuring.
