I have built my own AMD Sempron 2.5 gig w/onboard graphics. I now have acquired a serious frame rate problem which I never encontered before. I don't know if it is the Norton Anti virus or if my system is bugged out with spywhere. If I use Norton I can not run the system at full throttle per say, but if I do without it I risk serious infultration of the spywhere programs that come from nowhere at all. What can I do besides re format??!!

Dennis:
I have Norton Antivirus and Firewall, and yes, they do have a lot of impact in performance, due to the tons of process that they run. What I do is to shut down everything and then use FS. If you're not navigating into the Internet while flying, then you should have no virus or infection problems. Then, if you finish flying and want to surf the internet, just launch Norton again.
Regarding the spyware stuff... go to www.download.com and then look for an anti-spyware and run it. Personnally, I prefer one that is called Ad-Aware. Try looking for it in the Internet.
These should do =)

I think the key here is your "On board graphics" renderer
If you don't have a video card, you might want to check the settings. Most of the time they won't let you use more than 32MB, as this account for 32MB less of RAM. Their rendering sucks, too, cause the RAM speed is less (I believe than the memory in video cards).
If you do have a video card, uninstall the "drivers" for your onboard graphics renderer, make sure you enable the PCIe slot or AGP slot in your BIOS, and make sure you've disabled the "Onboard Video graphics" setting from the BIOS.
Also, if you didn't reinstall windows (because... you are keeping the same HDDs as before) my suggestion is that you go ahead and do so. Windows is not comfortable with CPU changes after an installation, though it detects them perfectly.
Cheers!

Thanks Eugenio, I have the Adware prog... I use it all the time with the updates. I might have a virus that may be running all the time now. I just did a check of my system and it is only running at 45% cap. That's rediculas and I think I will go to norton for an upgrade so I can elimonate what might be the problem that came through an email. Wish me luck.

Have you tried disabling while you are playing Norton Antivirus?!
That'd be a lot of help.
Cheers!

Dennis, I forgot to tell you, if you shutdown Norton, DO NOT close the process called CCAPP.exe because that will disable your Internet connection until you reboot the machine.
