I am thinking about getting activesky 2005 and I wanted to know if people liked it. I don't have fsuipc and I wanted to know if anyone knows if that will be a problem. Also, when fs2006 comes out, does anyone know if I will have to buy a whole new version?

It's ActiveSky 5 (ASV), the new version. I have it, it's awesome, you can convert the textures of the clouds to make it less hoggy on the computer.
As for your FS2006 question, if you are referring to the game (FS10, itself) of course you will have to. There's no "Upgrade" version.
If you mean for ASV, I don't know.
Cheers!

LOL I mean for the game. I doubt Microsoft would just give out a new version. So do you need a regesterd version of FSUIPC?

The New version will be the only one available as it happened with 2000, 2002, 2004.
For ASV you need to have the latest version of FSUIPC, I believe there's no need for a registered copy, but the simulation is much more limited.
Cheers!

Hey Gaston, I don't understand why the "simulation is much more limited" with a non-registered version of AS ???

Well... the simulation is limited with a NON registered version OF FSUIPC, AS has nothing to do with it.
With a registered version of FSUIPC you can change a lot more of settings that with a non registered version those are locked up.
Cheers!

ASV's worth it. Get it, you won't be disappointed. You don't need a registered copy of FSUIPC, but if you do register it, you can tweak a lot more weather settings, like the rates at which pressure and wind change. It can help prevent those sudden violent wind swings that drive us all crazy (and break our airplanes!).

Agree, FSV is well worth the investment and with a few modifications, it give a very real weather environment and I too would recommend Pete's FSUIPC for subtle changes in rate of change etc.
Enjoy.
