Robert:
Especially during a weekday, you aren't often going to get a reply to a posted message within five minutes. Please be patient. What is this "top 10" virtual airlines thing you're trying to do?
Actually, I don't think that DVA has a formal logo, come to think of it. We have people doing various sig designs for use here in the Cooler, but those vary by individual.

Take it easy! If no-one is on at the moment, then you'll have to wait for someone to get online! You could use http://www.deltava.org/favicon.ico Or possibly (if it's legal) http://images.delta.com/images/favicon.ico

Robert,
Please provide background on what you are attempting to do along with your proposal. Give us the URL so that we can evaluate the organization.
DVA management needs to review the placement of copywrited logos and materials on 3rd party websites. Further for your information, we do not use imbedded links to third parties. Of course, we do link to our mirror sites.

Terry, I've seen that site before and was wandering why we weren't in there yet. I would say that's a list we should get ourselves listed on. My 2 cents...

I do not anticipate being included on their "Top 10" list anytime soon.
Approximately two months ago, I submitted a nomination for DVA to their site, and never heard anything further. About 3 weeks ago, I again submitted a nomination for DVA and because of the lack of response, posted a message on their board regarding the lack of response and requesting confirmation. I received the following response:
"Luke, we just noticed your post on our forums about the same thing you e-mailed us about. We do not accept this, and your VA will not anymore be considered."
You may draw your own conclusions. I am not shedding any tears over our omission, since I think it reflects far more on Arno van Vulpen than it does on us. Based on the "virtual airline awards" I have seen this far, if a half dozen of you got together with your own Top 10 list, you would probably have a more representative list than anything that has been done before.
Cheers!

Well I received a reply from them stating that we're not professional enough. I won't comment further on what else they said but its a good thing I don't do what I used to get paid for anymore!

Um...*WE* aren't professional enough?
*falls down rolling on the floor laughing for about 30 minutes*
They have some good ones on the list for sure--BAV, American Virtual, United, plus VCA and UPSVAC on the "Great" list (guess they're #11 and #12?)--but somehow we wouldn't qualify? Hmmm. Their loss, I guess.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ufff, feeling better now!!!!
Due to rules and regulations, as well as forum guidelines, 80 % of my comments on this Top ten VA List have to be restricted. However, here is what is left for me to say:
I am an active (And anyone who can check VATSIM statistics can see what I mean) member of DVA and another three Virtual Airlines. I have NEVER, EVER (Did I mention NEVER?) seen the level of organization as well as structure that DVA has, in any other VA around the world. Pleeeeease. just take a look at our online presence, specially on sundays, and we go by far in the top 2 VA's on vatsim.
All I can understand from these previous posts, is that someone in that website has some personal frustrations against luke and the staff. too bad for them, but I truly believe DVA reputation's on VATSIM speaks for itself.
SO I SAID, and if someone has an issue with it, e-mail my attorney

Probably best to let this one ride since their objectivity and criteria are questionable. One must question the value of being selected and associated with the website given their rationale and unprofessional response.
Afterall, what is really important is that our pilots respect the airline and have a positive perception of what we stand for. My inbox strongly suggests that we are doing the right thing and have a wonderful, dedicated and professional membership.
Lets keep our focus on the centerline!

I love DVA. I have not been (Yet) a long term member, but I have looked at a lot of other VA's and quite frankly, DV, has integrity where others lack. The system is set up to be real; pilots are obviously competent. What more do you want???

Remembering that this is a hobby for us, I do not see the beneficial influence of being associated with a Top 10 website. DVA has built it's reputation on it's own, by providing a dynamic atmosphere to it's pilots and visitors alike. Take a look at our company-wide roster and you'll see what I am talking about.
Throw into this a mix of organization that is second to none, and you have the formula for a winning team, over and over and over again.
I am not knocking this website for our exclusion. What I am saying though is that DVA's success is not dependant on flightsimviation.com's interpretation of a top ten airline. Let the statistics speak for themselves is all I'm saying. When you stack our organization up against the top ten listed on that website, well.......I've said enough already.
Regards,
Ken
