Just a friendly reminder on what constitutes a valid, PIREP-able flight for DVA.
1. Any flight from the DVA online schedule or a real world DAL timetable.
2. Thanks to our relationship with AFVA, any AFVA or real world AF flights.
3. SkyTeam codeshare flights that have AN ASSIGNED DAL FLIGHT NUMBER.
There seems to still be some confusion about this, as I've been seeing PIREPs lately advising that it's a SkyTeam flight. Even if it is with a partner airline, the flight must be a DAL specific codeshare with a DAL flight number assigned to it (with the exception of Air France flights, see note #2 above). The easiest way to ensure use of valid flights is to go to DAL's homepage and download their scheduling program, it's small, easy to use, and includes all current flights.
Please help us out by following the above guidelines. Thanks, and happy flying!

My suggestion has been and continues to be that pilots not use the SkyTeam flight schedule for selecting flight segments. The use of the ST schedule can lead to selecting a non-code share flight in error.

Here's the scheduling link from Delta.com site for downloading their up-to-date schedule. It is very easy and useful. They update it every month and you just have to click on their update utility within the program to easily update each month.

Also, what is the official policy on the FLIGHT NUMBER? I notice some people use DVA and their DVA # (i.e. DVA2253) for every flight they file - I use the actual flight number from the Delta PDF -
thanks

The policy about using the flight number or PID is strictly one of personal choice. Many choose to use their PID since the PID remains constant permitting ATC and others to associate a name with an ID. Others choose to use the flight number since this is what real world commercial operations use when filing their flight plans and when communicating with ATC.

AFAIK, use the flight number when filing reports, and use whatever you prefer on VATSIM/IVAO.

Are my eyes deceiving me in that we havecodeshare flights with Alaska Airlines, but they are not listed on the PIREP dropdown airline menu?
